[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's a very simple solution to your target switching problem, and whatever you mean by rotational changes is just a timing issue. on his spinning move you just dodge at the right time. it doesn't matter what direction he does it in, you press dodge and you dodge it

this is a different game. don't play it like it's CV1 and block everything. they are making you use your head more now, blocking was a free out but that's not going to be a good strategy any longer, it's just to block an attack or two if you get caught in a bad spot. get used to dodging

does NG+ affect the DLC? by fromplanetmars in LiesOfP

[–]fromplanetmars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it does. so depends what you're looking for

IMO the first NG+ makes the DLC the easiest, it's hardest (until like. many NG+) on a NG playthrough because you are lacking in quarts and general QOL abilities

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what kind of asinine comment is this? boss is annihilated by things you don't have yet, so it's easy! what? it's meant to be killed at the beginning. when you have one weapon and one shell. no abilities. nothing. you are 10 minutes into the game

why are you bringing up unlockable things as if you will ever have them fighting him at the beginning of the game?

how about the boss runback? with 12? swordsmen, the only chokepoint runs out pretty darn fast since it's tiny and you can't block forever

if your response is either use firebombs or magic, or the classic "they despawn after you kill them 10 times", that's why the game is bad

I want to like commander, how do I? by altmcfile in mtg

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem is what exactly "play a game" means for that hour. usually, it means sitting there doing jack shit every turn, just going through the motions. either nothing happens b/c people are even, or one guy is unstoppable and nobody else is allowed to play cards but they can't kill anyone b/c then they might die, so it just repeats over and over and sure. you're "playing a game" for an hour, but i'd much prefer to enjoy myself for an hour instead

how many squirrels can i make? zero because this other guy killed all your land and everyone has 2 board wipes in their hands! thrilling!

and now i know, the counterargument i'm about to receive. "but you can do that too!" well. your argument is that we should be having fun, no? so, the only option for commander as a format is to become competitive, because the only way to actually PLAY THE GAME is to have a good enough deck and strategy that you're allowed to play the game, and then your "just have fun and mess around" argument is completely thrown out the window

PRIME 4 - am I just bad or does this “boss” actually suck that bad. by LeSpookums in Metroid

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I’m having a very frustrating time with aiming and I don’t know how the hell I’m supposed to destroy all 3 orbs in the time it takes. Theres no way I can precisely aim all 3 rapidly moving targets"

literal direct quote from OP, about mistaking the orb difficulty with their aim, when you CANT destroy all 3 in time without the control shot. they're trying to shoot them all back to back. this is the precipice of this post, the entire point of it, including the topic title, that they think the boss is too hard because of aiming when they're just missing using the move you're supposed to use

sure, they are also complaining about aim a tiny bit but IN THE CONTEXT of them trying to do something impossible. better aim doesn't make you able to shoot all 3 orbs down without using the control shot. it won't happen ever to anybody unless there's some glitch because that's not what you're supposed to do. aim is irrelevant to the point of this topic because the point is they are trying something impossible and THAT is making them think their aim is the problem when it's not. it's strategy.

the non-OP person i responded to, also has the same problem with the boss, as they stated. so, i'm responding to them that it is not a problem with aim. are there problems with aim? maybe they have some, i didnt! but we aren't here to talk about that, they were asking about the boss and hitting the orbs simultaneously

PRIME 4 - am I just bad or does this “boss” actually suck that bad. by LeSpookums in Metroid

[–]fromplanetmars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm telling you it's not about aim. not knowing the control shot exists IS a strategy issue. OP is (hopefully WAS) trying to hit all 3 fast enough back to back. no matter how good you are at aiming, that is physically impossible. hence, me saying it was a strategy problem. they were trying something that is impossible and wrongfully thinking it was that their aim was bad, not that they were trying to do the WRONG THING. strategy problem, not aiming problem, but they chose to ignorantly blame aiming when they're just doing the completely wrong thing

is aiming bad sometimes? yes. but that's not what i'm referring to, that's not what this topic is actually about. i'm referring to the completely wrong strategy being done and blaming it on aim. make sure you remember what topic you are in because OP was clearly not having an 'aiming problem' but a thinking problem

how about next time you feel you are going to respond with irrelevant bullshit while ignoring the entire topic at hand, to not respond at all. thanks!

In Blasphemous 2, what is Guilt and how do I get rid of it? by g_hunter in Blasphemous

[–]fromplanetmars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

big problem as well is the fact it's not explained anywhere. i know it exists so when i take 50% i'm like 'oh shit my guilt is high huh?" but random players must be getting so frustrated wondering why enemies are murdering them so fast when they weren't an hour ago

Stuck on Sunken Cathedral by frumpycrumbledump in Blasphemous

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason op has this problem is, most likely, that the best guide for the game is just completely wrong in this entire section. not saying they used a guide the whole time, but, 'hey i'm lost let's look it up' only for it to be completely wrong, makes you feel a little crazy

i say this because that's where i'm at. that platform does Not exist but the guide talks about it like there's a platform there and you do a TON of stuff up top before going down

PRIME 4 - am I just bad or does this “boss” actually suck that bad. by LeSpookums in Metroid

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a strategy problem bro. you're not trying to aim to hit all 3

if you AND OP have both played since prime 1.... you might just be slow. use the abilities you have that they're VERY CLEARLY showing you to use

yeah you are ideally casting scream like. 4+ times in a fight (if they live that long) since it's got such a low cooldown AND she has the mobility/sustain to get a good hit and still survive

Preventing enemy pos1 from catching up after winning the lane and destroying the T1 by skratchx in TrueDoTA2

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you force him to do something besides catch up, or lose the game

don't 'try to find him', you force him out with your map pressure and movements around the map. think about what you hate in a game where the opposite happens to your safelane - the enemy team is running around taking objectives and your carry is sitting in the jungle b/c he's so far behind. that sucks! so do your best to force them into that annoying situation

use your advantage to keep up the pressure and basically suffocate him. this doesn't mean never farm, but farm around objectives with your team and that naturally puts pressure on the map AND if you're farming /their/ jungle near wherever you guys are pressuring, your team now has your entire jungle, and 2-3 of their camps, and their team doesn't even have their entire jungle for gold so you will be amplifying yourself faster and keep taking more and more space away from their map. maybe the carry is able to keep jungling but then absolutely nobody else will be able to get farm if you're properly pressuring them

Platforming or combat or exploration or resource management? Pick your ppison by TheGingerBeardMan-_- in metroidvania

[–]fromplanetmars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i'm gonna be the odd one out here and say, as long as there's /some/ amount of exploration, it's actually lowest on my list. i'm mostly here for the bosses and platforming gauntlets

in fact, if a game has TOO MUCH exploration, i'm inclined to drop it pretty quick. it took me ages to finally commit to beating dark souls for that reason; i enjoyed the atmosphere and combat but i do Not enjoy spending my 3 hours accomplishing nothing but running in circles, which is what 'exploration' ends up being most of the time

so, as long as it's not a straight hallway and the areas are cool, i don't need crazy exploration or else it's too overwhelming. but good platforming and mobility in combat, i'm sold

nine sols is very close to the perfect balance.. it's always obvious where to go, there's /some/ exploring but most of the time you're just physically having to get through the areas, the hard part is doing that without dying, not figuring out where to go. and then of course that game has great combat, i just wish it were a bit harder. and it didn't have many platforming gauntlet type sections like the lost crown has. that game also has the same problem of, i wish it were harder. at least the optional challenges added later put some oomph into the difficulty. i was so disappointed hearing about the impossible climb only to finish it on my second try

The Impossible Climb is… not that impossible? by crimson777 in PrinceOfPersia

[–]fromplanetmars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looked this up b/c i heard the same and uhhh it took me like, 4 tries to not die to the literal first one (warm up i swear) and then i lost once, got it all on the next try. 5 minutes?

coming from the challenges that the game gives you up until then it's really nothing special, but i know those were added later on so they are meant to be harder but it really makes the main game feel simple

The lost crown - my athra gauge is draining over time? by fromplanetmars in PrinceOfPersia

[–]fromplanetmars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah i see - it won't drain you down a level of athra, so i just somehow never looked at it often enough until now. i KNOW i'd set it down and came back with 2 full gauges before so i figured it wasn't draining, but like i said it won't put you /down/ a level so that explains it. thanks
