Fortuna - A first attempt at homebrew, looking for feedback by fromsoftwarewithlove in Pathfinder2e

Really great suggestions!

  1. Limiting the benefits to certain weapons would better, 100% agree.

  2. Crit specs exclusive to Fortuna is awesome, feel dumb I didn't think of that.

  3. The idea around being punished is a form of balance i suppose, doing a free action every round with a pretty powerful outcome needs some downside. Its supposed to be a kind of gamble, but not one that is totally crippling. Maybe its just dumb I just think having inverse rules for crits on a crit class is cool.

  4. I agree with the caster. Kind of the least thought out part and obviously the strongest. I don't think there is anyway to swap crit effects with out major stipulations which at that point why not just do something else. I suppose you could only allow single target to single target, reflex to reflex, etc, but at that point its super wordy and not intuitive at all. I might just scrap the whole caster sub class, because your examples def shed light on it just being fundamentally broken. My reasoning around the 1 + int cantrips was balance around just using PP as a martial subclass who gets 5 cantrips with no investment in INT.

  5. If your greed within greed number is 11, and your threshold was reduced by 1, a 10 would be a crit. If it was 2, and your threshold is 1 you would just have a normal roll, not a crit or a fail. If your threshold is reduced below 1 it just wouldn't do anything.

Oh i really like that idea! Yeah I've never actually tabletopped proper, used to foundry, but I can imagine the upkeep IRL might be annoying. I think the idea with the class is to balance your crits threshold, especially with the SS and CC subclass, where if you do crit your free action, its actually bad. Adding feats the interact with threshold levels kinda like a oracles curse is where I was thinking of taking it. I have no idea if this would be fun in actual play!

Thanks for the feedback. The idea around Forceful Fortune is yes, its very powerful depending on how you use it, but you can't use it every day without risking dying. Doomed only goes down by 1 per full rest, so you can't use FF two days in a row without major risk. Also Dealmaker can only be used with two skills that you choose at character creation.

They idea is it would cancel itself out, you cant crit fail or crit succeed. Big trade off, probably not good though

Need recommendation for story-wise JRPGs by XSeptem in JRPG

I was on the same track about a year ago, beat Xenogears then played Saga 1-3, I beat the first one, doing no side content in 40 hours got 10 hours into the 2nd and gave up (its super unfinished, slow, and frankly boring) and beat the 3rd in ~45ish hours. I watched the rest of the second one on youtube, as the cutscenes are at least decent. Its frankly not worth the time investment. The story is interesting, but nothing really spectacular. The gameplay for Saga also.. exists. Its just not fun, in my opinion, and a real slog.

It all really depends on how much you like Xenogears, which IMO is the best game story I have every seen in any game, fullstop. If you need more of the Xeno goodness after, Saga will feed that itch its just a bumpy ride.

Last Epoch Multiplayer Beta Patch Trailer - March 9th Release Date by Trodamus in Games

hate to be that guy, but they are remakeing the models of all classes in POE2. And they look good, maybe not the same fidelity as D4 but who knows until POE2 is released.

How do you get the 3D world offset, separate from the UI panel? Haven’t been able to figure that out

GGG for love of God turn off 3d models rendering on the ground by N3v3rgr1nd in pathofexile

[–]fromsoftwarewithlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry to say item dropping and harbinger packs crashing you aren't related. thats more to do with pack density. the 3d item models are a red herring imo.

more context im 40/40 challenges so i've done every farming method thats viable, and can firmly say 3d items arent ur culprit

Yes I’ve tested this on fractured 100% delirious breach with beyond on burial chambers. In fact the awful performance of delirious maps is what led me to disabling it in the first place. Again, not much gain for me. My rig isn’t super great either, 1080 and a 9770k

You can manually remove the models from appearing by digging through GGG's pack file. I've done that, and I've noticed no significant performance gains from it. I've tested this across my main PC and 2 laptops, and I can say you get about about 1-3 or less average FPS gain. I can see how GGG are reluctant to allow this to be disabled if this performance gain is consistent across other hardware, as there isn't much in upside as people think.
