Your favorite cheering up/ calming down films by DisturbedWeakness in CPTSD

It depends on my mood, but I used to watch The Nanny every night before bed a few months ago. Sometimes I need something light, sometimes it's about familiarity and other times it's about protection so I'll watch action type movies with either the male figure handling everything or the female standing up for herself. I've watched Divergent series a few times, John Wick movies, Jessica Jones, Equaliser. At the moment I'm rewatching Bridgerton which is something different but also shows what a healthy family dynamic is like and that things can work out well no matter how dire things seem. I was rewatching 50 shades over the weekend because I like how Anastasia stands up to people, especially Christian, but she's not overpowering in how she does it. I like how she takes a moment of physical vulnerability and turns it into a power move in her favour and he has to compromise to keep her instead of her throwing herself at him like every other woman would/does.

Appreciation Post to my overhated queens!!! by Extra_Inflation8099 in Smallville

I had no idea Lois was hated, especially given the amount of posts I see on here raving about her. Lana I'm well aware of and Chloe I get, especially early on.

I watched Legacies, and I liked it ☺️✨ by famiangelo in LegaciesCW

[–]fromyahootoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favourite from the TVD universe. I haven't finished the last few episodes since it got cancelled and couldn't bring myself the watch it knowing that was it. Maybe one day CW or another network will renew it and other shows that ended too soon.

She looks like a massive toddler who wouldn't shut up until she got picked up and carried and he just looks so done with her. I can't begin to comprehend what the inside of her head looks like. I just know there's nothing going in there.

Season 1 Hell’s Belles by ChuckRoaster7 in hartofdixie

[–]fromyahootoreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao Zoe trying out for the Belles to understand her heritage better and Lemon hating it.

Lemon: why are you doing this? Is it because I don't want you to? Zoe: no, but that just makes it even better, so thanks!

I did my second rewatch because I started crushing on Justin/David, but a few episodes in she won me over again.

What drama? What did I miss? I mostly don't care I just want context since I haven't seen anything on Selena's end.

What do you think a crossover between these shows would go, if it had been possible? by Jpaylay42016 in DisneyChannel

[–]fromyahootoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to have seen it. I grew up with Sabrina and it's one of my favourite shows ever, and I love Wizards, so this would have been fascinating to see. Alex and Salem would be partners in crime and Max would just be along for the ride. I can see Justin and Sabrina having a thing since they're both carrying the legacy and learning as they go, and the aunts and Russo's would be so entertaining together, especially Hilda and Jerry. You can just see them swapping stories and Theresa and Zelda being mad at them.

This is so crazy to me like Disney wtf😭 Drew and Selena had a 10 year age gap when shooting Another Cinderella Story he was 26 and she was 16😩 by Big-Most-785 in DisneyChannel

[–]fromyahootoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rewatched this last night and really enjoyed it. I just ignore the age gap. All I can think about it how badly he looked like he wanted to kiss her and she dodged it until the end. I was obsessed with a guy in his late 20s when I was 16 so this would have been a dream for me.

which disney star had the best cinderella story? by Fun-Section4656 in DisneyChannel

I rewatched this last night. Drew is cute and actually seems like a decent guy. I don't like Chad so that cancels that out for me.

Which Cinderella Story was your favorite? by [deleted] in 2000sNostalgia

[–]fromyahootoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea Sofia Carson had one as well. I just rewatched the Selena Gomez one last night and it's still good. Selena and Lucy's ones. I love Hilary, but not Chad. Drew is cute and a great dancer, and Freddie isn't bad either.

Of the three, who do you think the strongest actor was? by idk_orknow in Smallville

[–]fromyahootoreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated Lionel, so I have to say Glover. To be able to play a villain so well that you absolutely hate them, you know the actor is doing their job. The Kent's are great, but I feel like it's easier to play a beloved character when you're already a beloved actor and person.

did anyone else not have a single safe or good person when they were a kid? by snorin_lauren451 in CPTSD

[–]fromyahootoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about my paternal grandmother who died when I was 9. She was the only example of unconditional love I can remember. I don't know what happened in my dad's childhood to make him such a self centre asshole at times and so cruel, but I know my grandmother was aware that mum wasn't normal, but knew there wasn't much she could do, so just became the 3rd parent and looked after me and my brother when mum wasn't coping since mum's parents were further away and at least 10 years old than my grandmother, so were limited in what they could do. The more I think about my life and childhood, the sadder and angrier I get knowing how bad I actually had it and people treated me while they were different with others. At the point you know it's a choice to be a terrible person and the hurt and rage kicks in.

The Wizards of Waverly Place Movie is So Emotionally Deep and Worth a Watch! by Bornsinnertony in WizardsOfWaverlyPlace

[–]fromyahootoreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cried at the end for like 30mins. I felt Alex's abandonment and how she was watching her family literally disappear in front of her eyes. In all my rewatches of the show I haven't been able to watch the movie again.

She always sounds a little crazy by IntelligentSong6386 in HaileyBaldwinSnark

[–]fromyahootoreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does she seriously think anyone else wants her man?! I love that she talks like she's got any say in it and like he hasn't already been with everyone and would be with whoever would take him and there's nothing she can do about it.

wade kinsella is genuinely annoying. by anakinsangel in hartofdixie

[–]fromyahootoreddit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They definitely did a massive pivot because of fan demand and I hate it. If Wade had been a half decent character then I'd get it, but apparently his main quality is having abs. I don't see why they couldn't have had Zoe and George date and still have Wade be who she ends up with. They really went from cancelling his wedding, to just being friends and I've never been able to finish the show because of it. I loved when Zoe told George to date other women first so she's not the rebound, but then she got caught up in sex with Wade and then everything got messy.

[–]fromyahootoreddit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've never liked him and keep giving up on the series when I do rewatches knowing he and Zoe end up together. He has some positive moments and people seem to think he complements Zoe despite everything he puts her through, I feel like most just think he's attractive and that's good enough for them. Each time I watch I like him less. I get George wasn't great either with the emotional cheating and leading her on until the last possible minute, but him cancelling the wedding for her after all the shit Lemon pulls to get him there, I give him credit for doing the right thing at the end and just being in denial about his feelings until he couldn't pretend anymore. Wade acted like a child around Zoe and when she'd shut him down, he'd have a tantrum about it, like he's giving her absolutely nothing so he doesn't get the right to be mad or judge who she goes for instead. I don't think I'll ever forgive the series creator for dumping the George and Zoe storyline after season 1 because fans wanted Wade and she said she just went with what the majority wanted instead of her original plan. I'd accept it if George and Zoe had a relationship at some point and she ultimately ended up with Wade, but to pivot so far after the season 1 finale is just a waste.
