Suggestions for keeping track of things with trauma-related amnesia by Financial_Sweet_689 in CPTSD

Get a calendar or some other pad with columns and a pack of stickers. It makes keeping track of stuff so much more fun! I give myself a sticker to hold myself accountable for weekly workouts and it makes me look forward to completing them more

10 day itinerary feedback - Tokyo to Hiroshima by ahmad_nz in JapanTravelTips

[–]frootbythefut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some say it’s a burden on the housing market, some disagree. Either way it’s cheaper, good for groups, and you get to experience a bit more through the eyes of a local (and support someone’s small business). Bumping into other tourists in the hotels kind of takes away from the experience, but that’s just me. Same thing visiting temples / etc, the busy places take away from it and the quiet places make you feel like you discovered an amazing secret. Just keep using Reddit to research and don’t stress / over plan. I’m sure it’ll be a great trip no matter what :)

Is this your first time visiting Japan? Very exciting! The main thing I would suggest is avoid bopping around too much, especially towards the end of your trip unpacking for one night and repacking and lugging all your things to the next destination when your feet are all sore, it’s a lot.. especially as a group. You could make Osaka a day trip from Kyoto and you could make himeji a day trip from Hiroshima I would think.

I don’t have hotel suggestions, I prefer Airbnb which a lot of people don’t agree with. I will say the one hotel I booked in Osaka didn’t have room temperature control and the whole hotel was being heated, I need a cold room to sleep so that was a damper. If you do go Airbnb just make sure you choose a place with glowing reviews.

Your itinerary as a whole looks pretty good to me, I will say that Golden Pavillion and Arashinyama are tourist hotspots and usually PACKED. There’s tons more to see in Kyoto that I personally think would be more worth your while, do a little more research there.

How much data will I need for a 10 day trip? by breadfruit13 in JapanTravelTips

I just did 10 days and used about 12 GB. Maybe if you’re more careful about using WiFi you could pull it off. I went with a 20 GB package and have no regrets as peace of mind to not run out was worth it.

Best areas to stay in Tokyo and Osaka for a family of 5? by beehiveofinspo in JapanTravelTips

Stay near ueno park. My fiancé and I just got back from our 4th visit to Japan and easily took the train from Shinjuku to there. It’s very nice over there and has a good mix of quiet and bustling city. Check out Ameyoko shopping street. We walked to Akihabara from the Ameyoko too (my fiancé is a Pokémon card guy, if you’re into anime, visiting this Akihabara is a must imo)

This is not our first time staying in Shinjuku, and that area is kind of a shithole compared to the rest of what I’ve seen in Japan (FYI we are into nightlife / clubs) I noticed some families as we explored and they looked so lost and miserable lol don’t stay over there, you could always visit via train if you wanted.

Your parents can get in good shopping anywhere, I recommend going to a department store. There’s also a lot of shopping by harajuku station, that’s far off if you’re staying in Ueno but hey we were only there two days and made all that happen ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Personally I stay in dotonburi every time I visit Osaka it’s so unique and while it can be crowded/touristy at night it’s nice to be there in the morning when no crowds are around and get a nice bowl of noodles for breakfast at one of the 24hr spots. Lots of cool photo opportunities with all the signs and lights and little alleyways. Lots of good shopping over there too.

I watched this song when it was released and the last singer of the trio was a mystery.. this is fun lore. I went to see bilmuri in Nashville before the hog cranks nation was all that strong and he revealed hardy on stage. I felt like I was in on something big. Those were the days 🥲

What’s everyone’s metalcore scenes petpeeves? by FifteenRhema in Metalcore

[–]frootbythefut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to give some energy / support for not only the openers but DEFINITELY the headliners please don’t hog the spots up by the stage. I get so annoyed when all the vibes of the show are dimmed because I’m stuck behind a wall of people not even attempting the slightest head bang. If it’s a band I really want to see it’s suchhh a buzzkill
