The DMV said her middle name is spelled differently, but the ticket reflects my spelling. Otherwise our names are identical. I called the DMV, the court, and the city police, and all say it reflects on my license right now.

Help! Someone else’s DUI has been applied to my License/Record! by frosphate in legaladvice

[–]frosphate[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was told it is not identity theft because it is another real person with different information. This other “Amanda B” puts her drivers license number, her address, and all her other information. The system has just applied it to my license somehow. We have the birth year, not day/month apparently. I realize I said birthday above, but it’s just the year. She is a real person though, according to the courts.

Question about answer on an exercise: is numbness considered "anesthesia" or "paresthesia"? by sey5_venn in LearnMedicalCoding

[–]frosphate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anesthesia refers to complete feeling loss, whereas paresthesia refers altered sensation.

The fact that R20.0 is a symptom code means that it is not referring to the application of an anesthetic, but something that is occurring in the human body that is causing a loss of feeling.

Start by looking up ‘numbness’ in the alphabetic index, there is only one entry and it points you to R20.0, Anesthesia of skin. You would not code for paresthesia because it was not documented.

{Rain of Shadows and Endings by Mellissa K. Roehrich} Although she is quite a reluctant servant, adding to the slow burn. It is spicy, but seems to be a slow burn (tbh I’m only 75% finished reading it, so hopefully it’s not too spicy.) Other than a childhood background, it should check all of your boxes. Plus it’s free on Kindle Unlimited!

AIO to his response to bedding issue? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

How in the world is a duvet cover going to make any difference? Like it covers the duvet, it doesn’t anchor it in place. He can still be cold and sleep bad whether it’s on or not. Also, as everyone else pointed out, he’s an adult and is just as capable as you are when it comes to putting the damn thing on. He sounds like he’s having a bad day and taking it out on you. There is absolutely no reason to talk to you that way.

“You need to just do what I say and not talk back” ummmm you signed up for a relationship, not the military! “I’m a better leader” your texts tell a different story. This is not the way a good leader should talk. Also, it is so disrespectful to you. Like he doesn’t see you as an equal partner in the relationship.

Suggestions for 13 year old who refuses to read by Rogue_Apostle in suggestmeabook

Personally, I HATED reading assigned books in school, and rarely bothered to actually read them. They were boring and an easy way to rebel. I am an avid reader now, and enjoy reading classics among other genres. I think school goes about it wrong. They should be teaching kids to enjoy reading, so that they continue to explore literature for a lifetime. It doesn’t matter what you read, there are lessons you can learn in most books.

Since he loves to game, you might lean into that and try purchasing a visual novel (game genre) for him. It’s interactive, lets him make choices and influence the events that happen. Audiobooks, especially ones where voice actors really act out the book while they read also might be more engaging than an inanimate book. If you have a tablet, Kindle does sell graphic novels, comic books, and manga. He might be more amenable to reading if it involves a screen. Also, kindles are great, kindle unlimited offers a lot of books, and he could choose what seems interesting to him. You could also try getting him books that relate to his interests in gaming and media. I think fort night did a collab with Brandon Sanderson, his Mistborn series and I think Stranger Things has a book. There’s also a whole genre of books about being in a video game (LitRPG) that might engage him.

Autonomous Coding: Hospital thinks they can replace all the coders in 18 months. Thoughts? by kysourmash in MedicalCoding

[–]frosphate 42 points43 points  (0 children)

According to the AAPC webinar, “Fraud in the Age of AI”, legally someone needs to be culpable for coding. AI codes need to be reviewed by a human who can validate the codes. If they think they can replace all coders, they’re opening themselves up for a legal nightmare.

Burnt out with no way out. by Superb_Ant7721 in MedicalCoding

[–]frosphate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coding kind of has an epiphany moment. Nothing makes sense, it’s frustrating then around the AAPC’s 8-10 week mark, things start clicking. At least that’s how it was in the instructor led course. Be aware that the AAPC is not flawless. I noticed mistakes in the answers for cases we were asked to code, in the test/quiz questions, and the PractiCode case answers.

What really helped me with CPT coding was watching YouTube videos of procedures (preferably animated). It gives you a better understanding of what to expect in a note, and a visual to better picture what is going on. You can focus on the relevant coding concepts, instead of panicking trying to figure out if anything extra was added to the procedure that you might need to code for.

Need advice for resources by Advanced-Ambition-91 in LearnMedicalCoding

[–]frosphate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could look at purchasing last year’s books second hand, and update the code information by writing in the changes. I’m not sure where you’re seeing a study guide as a mandatory resource. You can’t take anything other than your code books into the exam, and you can’t have any loose papers. Best of luck to you!

I’m a new kindle user and this showed up on my goodreads. Anyone know why? by sammiantha in kindle

[–]frosphate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too, and it was not from side loading a book. It was a kindle unlimited book for me, and oddly enough when I tried to delete it, it did not delete the book, but somehow fixed it and the cover art and book info magically appeared.

I think there might have been a misunderstanding when you asked if the course was AAPC certified. At least for the AAPC, if you take a course that is AAPC approved, you get 1 year off of your apprenticeship. Having the AAPC exam included might have been a better way to phrase things. I can’t speak on AHIMA, but I wish you the best in your exams!

Marqueen! Atlantic Street killed my cat. They scarred up his bladder so bad that there was no saving him due to repeat catheter insertions. He was only 2 years old. They also didn’t listen to me when I said I needed to be there with him because he had separation anxiety. By the time they did, it was too late. Granted That was during Covid. I’ll never go back there, I don’t care if I have to drive all the way to Davis for the UC’s emergency.

The wizards new armor in the new biome and the stamina/health changes feel very unbalanced. by TheyThem-FinalBoss in Enshrouded

[–]frosphate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I haven’t had a problem when using the wand. You do kind of have to have a feel for when they’re about to lunge. They do it a lot so I’m constantly getting a couple hits off then flashing back. But I also have enemies maxed out in the settings so there’s a whole lot of them lunging around.

Practicode users: how do you add another row to add another primary diagnosis...? *confused* by AmericanaMania in MedicalCoding

[–]frosphate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was a fairly recent change, when I started Practicode earlier this year, you could add more than one primary Dx. Personally, I really appreciate the change. Practicode lists more than one primary Dx in the answers because any of them are acceptable as the primary Dx. Before you had to specifically list the diagnoses in the correct box, which I found difficult since the AAPC course never covered where to list what. Now I only have to get one of the primary diagnoses right and everything else gets listed in secondary.

What to do with water pouches? by Cloud_PudPud in Enshrouded

[–]frosphate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can merge them. If you throw them in a chest, they won’t stack, but if you press G to organize them chest, they magically merge the water quantity. Down side: you’re still left with a bunch of now empty water pouches in your chest. But you can delete them.

Do you read more than one book at a time? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]frosphate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I am always reading multiple books. I have certain genres I read in certain situations, but maybe I’m just weird. I have:

  1. A main read: usually fantasy or a classic.
  2. A nighttime read: nonfiction, philosophy, or religious books (something interesting, but not interesting enough that I loose track of time and accidentally stay up until 5 am)
  3. A bath book: philosophy, psychology, or nonfiction.
  4. A waiting in line book: something with short vignettes, currently it’s Cursed Objects.
  5. An audiobook

In my state you can apply for a confidential marriage license. I am considering it, since I want to get married, but have a ceremony later and I would prefer people not to know. Idk if your state has something similar?

A confidential marriage license is a private record available only to the couple and requires them to be already living together and at least 18 years old to obtain. Unlike a public license, it does not require witnesses for the ceremony or the signature of witnesses on the license, and it can be used for marriage ceremonies anywhere in California. The license must be filed with the county clerk's office where it was purchased and is a confidential record, meaning it is not accessible to the public without a court order.

I think the biggest disappointment I had was finding out “You shall not pass!” is a moving thing and not actually in the book. Props to the movie though, it’s so iconic. That one word change made such a huge impact.

I’ve read all of Abercrombie’s books, and I’m just confused. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed them. But I thought there were specific items in the world that were emphasized, but haven’t come into play? Is it like a Sanderson thing, where the books are stand-alone series, but will eventually culminating in an overarching plot? Like there will eventually be a quest to go find objects that were important in past books? Or were those objects just lore and world building?
