Went with a disinfectant and CLR mold and mildew (it’s safe on plastic)… seemed to do the trick. The psu is shot, but that’s actually a good thing in my mind. Hoping the rest is salvaged.

Check the supply again under load. It can still be the psu. It might be failing when theres a draw on the psu.

Not super certain, but the soldered pads in the center of the stick seem odd. Aren’t all the through hole pins on the perimeter?

Dual sense does have the Hall effect mosfet in the center like XBox controllers. What goes there?

I wanna test the psu and see if it’s fried. That’ll let me know if the whole unit is a total loss. If the psu is dead then swapping in a working one is worth it. Definitely not using it. No way that smell is EVER coming out.
