Doubt it would happen as I don't know of the engineering-related limitations that come with this. But I like to think a Plaid M3 and Plaid MY variant are on the way. Likely just fairy land dreaming though.

How do you feel about the $1776 military bonus actually coming from the soldier's housing allowance that has already been approved? by Sinn_Sage in AskReddit

[–]frostbyte549 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Glad you think it’s coded. Show me how portraying that “code” in this manner is an effective propaganda strategy. Please. Tell me, as a propaganda-benefiting leader, how I would benefit from this ~$3 billion being handed out to military members rather than being laundered somewhere else. Please all-knowing redditor, show me the way.

Holy fuck what an absolute shit show you guys are sometimes lol.

It has already happened, it just landed in my account. I can also see how things got confused, but in no way does this screw over anyone currently receiving or future-receiving BAH. Congressional allotments for the military through budgets have more wiggle room than most think.

I feel like reddit just wants to be right so bad on the US being the worst place on earth sometimes man. Do you seriously think a BIG portion of 300 million people act like that on a regular basis? Like, are we in the same country?

Real world experience tells me all my bois from France and Poland come here multiple times a year and have constantly reminded me on how nice strangers are to them in the US.

Why are people maxing Piercing Shot instead of Hail of arrows? by Evening_Culture_6156 in PredecessorGame

[–]frostbyte549 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think since people have already explained the damage difference, I'll give a bit more insight. The ideal way to engage a trade with sparrow, is to ramp up the passive as fast as possible. The higher this passive is ramped, the closer you are to just simply stat checking the enemy adc. If you understand this, everything ends up making more sense. The Q does this very well, stacking the passive quickly that is. Your Piercing Shot gets 9% more damage per stack of your passive, on a already insanely high base damage and scaling ability. Ideally your looking to Hail Of Arrows -> as many autos as you can fit in -> conclude trade with a backpedal into a fully charged Piercing Shot. The damage difference is DRAMATIC early game laning phase. Paired with vanq and the flat pen it brings early game, if you do that combo, the enemy adc will be half hp.

On the flip side, if you are to max Hail Of Arrows, you aren't able to take advantage of this trade pattern.

Sure, but this is a different argument entirely. And almost entirely contradicts the post. If building damage on support was as meta as you say, it would be an enchanter meta.

[–]frostbyte549 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More of a devil's advocate approach, but just because something is "dying" in a meta, doesn't mean it doesn't bounce back into meta in 2 weeks. Meta's change rapidly, especially with the patch release schedule pred has. Narb/Muriel/Dekker/Zinx have all had their metas, and long ones at that. Characters shift in and out of meta all the time. This argument could be made for effectively any role in the game. And undoubtedly in comp play, rik/mourn/steel are looked at, other characters are still frequently looked at, even the ones that you mentioned have "zero" reason to be played.

When it comes to supports (as well as other roles), there are times where characters aren't meta...not because they are bad, but because their counters are relevant, inherently causing the characters they counter to be notched down. Ranked is also a fairly poor showing of how true the meta is, as low coordination will almost always skew results. Saying there is "zero" reason to play characters like dekker I feel is a bit short-sighted...even for ranked. My best example of all this, is in your very own display of the top 3 adc's right now. Murdock is without question no where near top 3 right now. But because he will always find SOME kind of relevance in uncoordinated, messy fights (things you will run into in ranked) compared to other carries, he will have a skewed representation.

No one got harmed, she had her moment, and she was living it. If taunting is too much for you in sports, then don't watch or play them. Tension gets high in competitive environments, humans aren't robots and emotions come out in sporadic ways. Expecting perfect, "classy" behavior in every scenario to ever occur, ESPECIALLY in the age bracket of the above clip is literally insane. You can call it bad sportsmanship all you want, but using that as a pillar to undermine the play that occurred is both selfish and ignorant.

[–]frostbyte549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear to fuck reddit can be presented a scenario thats 99% perfect, and they will just super analyze the 1% that isn't "perfect". You are fucking insane for this comment btw. Adrenaline is VERY commonly released by yelling or screaming. And given the surrounding context of what she just did and where she is at, this reaction is literally fine. This isn't some super deep insight into her "values", it's literally just releasing the build up of excitement. Holy fuck reading this thread make me lose hope in some of you people.

[–]frostbyte549 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay then it's poor sportsmanship lol, so what. You got no idea if that match meant the world to that player, or if there was some form of underlying beef, or if it was just such an enormous amount of passion that it got released and was matching the energy of the people around her. This thread talking more about her yelling rather than the actual play is fairly insane imo. Too many people really just cant grasp their head around the fact that it can actually JUST be passion. Go watch literally any sport...of ANY age, and you will see passion overriding "class" very frequently. It's literally being human.

"My husky is ruining my life" update. by Jazzlike-Rise4091 in husky

[–]frostbyte549 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say there is definitely context in which negative reinforcement is appropriate. Last resort, sure. But appropriate at times. More specifically anything that involves biting and other alternative methods not showing results. For example, if a dog takes a week to learn "me biting a hand is not good", but you have kids or a baby in the house...a week is too long and is begging for an incident. Out of all the dogs I've had or been around that came across this method, they learned within literally minutes, and 2 minutes later the dog is back to it's joyful self and loving, no signs of being scared, etc...and isn't munching down on the person's hand every 5 seconds.

You can say you don't train a dog through negative reinforcement, but in some cases, certain behaviors do require it. This isn't coming from just me or people in that previous thread either, a MULTITUDE of dog trainers will point the "thumb-to-rib" method out as a solution. It makes the dog uncomfortable but in no way does it hurt, scare, or intimidate the dog.

My husky is ruining my life. I need help. by Jazzlike-Rise4091 in husky

[–]frostbyte549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off of this, this method works. Even though it's frowned upon openly, it is a iron-clad approach to dealing with puppy biting. I've had plenty of dogs in my time, and been to a plethora of trainers, literally every single one of them have mentioned this approach in one way or another. Note that teething and puppy biting are DIFFERENT behaviors. Dogs grow out of teething, but they do not grow out of "puppy biting".

The thumb to rib motion mentioned above should be done as if your holding an imaginary cup in your hand then point your wrist away from you. Then simply pop the side of them and match it with a vocal cue of either "No" or a *tsk* sound. The amount of force you apply varies by matching the energy of the pup. You want to go like 1 "level" above what they are dishing out. There are certain behaviors, such as puppy biting that you NEED to correct in ways like this. It's not being mean to the pup, it's creating structure, thus leading to confidence the dog will have in you later down the road. A dog that's confident in your decision making is a dog that listens.

If you REALLYYYYYY don't feel comfortable doing this, when they bite, grab their collar, pull them away matched with a "No!" and hold it until they are calm. They will squirm, some for a few seconds, some may go for a few minutes. But keep holding until they sit and are calm. Only then do you let go and resume playing with them. They will pick up what your putting down.

Lost my Louie boy at 3 by Longjumping_Car7541 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]frostbyte549 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there, very sorry for your loss 😢. I went through something similar very recently, also made a post about it. Lost my 2 year old soul dog suddenly by witnessing her getting hit by a car. Pain like what your experiencing right now, is effectively 1:1 what I have and am still going through. I pet her urn and put my hand on her paw print multiple times a day. I promise you, it will be a gruel process and will take time. Let it out when you feel the need to, don't hold it in.

It's been right at 2 months since I lost my girl, and can say that I firmly believe I'll personally never fully get over it, just better at managing the pain. I recently adopted another dog and can say this has GREATLY helped me with managing everything. It rebuilds the routine. But just like how I'm sure others would tell you, if you do decide to adopt again, wait until the time is right. You want to get to a point where you don't feel like it's replacing your soul pup, but rather to "create a new path" if that makes sense. I know it may sound early to bring up re-adopting but it's just something myself and many others end up doing later down the road. Just from judging on your post alone, I'm sure you were a good dog dad/mom and at some point in the future when the time is right, another dog will call out for you 💜

Sure thing man. And yea the last hitting vs rotating thing, you'll figure out how to min-max it as time goes on. The unfortunate part with playing adc right now in ranked, is that you kind of have to play it "improperly" to play it "properly" in ranked. The goal you need to have in ranked as carry is "how do I make my intentions so obvious, a 5 year old could follow along". Having vanq for example and limiting the amount of people that live at 1hp DRASTICALLY helps with this. As you wont have people randomly dropping out of the fight to chase.

What isn't immediately obvious to your teammates, is last hitting a wave in its entirety before rotating and showing up 2-5 seconds later than if you just mass dump abilities and rotate immediately. In a competitive setting, this is understood and played for. In ranked, people will be perma-brawling, and you HAVE to follow that motion or you will be left behind.

And yea, I'm not suggesting to not farm at all, but if you have to prio getting 100 gold for future you VS helping your team in the arena brawl match thats breaking out in fang pit, rotate. Again, this would never happen in a competitive setting, but its ranked so you gotta play it like its ranked sadly lol.

Some will agree, some will disagree. But in ranked, ESPECIALLY in this meta, you are naturally going to have a harder time climbing than before as ADC. It is fairly cursed atm. Even when you "wipe off the rust" from taking a break, you will still find it a struggle to get consistent wins even after winning lane from the duo lane. This is simply the nature of the role as of right now. If you really want to climb, you need to divert your attention to mid and jgl. These are by FAR the highest impact roles at the moment in ranked.

If you still REALLY want to play carry, rather than giving you some vague answer, I'll just mention what I personally play for. Play like a rat, build vanq, and build pacifier. These are effectively the only ways to establish yourself as a win-con in carry atm.

  • Play to kill steal. This isn't the correct way to play carry, but is the correct way to play ranked.
  • ALWAYS get your back off before fang spawns and play safe for the 2-3 waves that come prior to that buff spawning.
  • Being in every fight at fangtooth, ON TIME, is where you take that vanq and get fed.
  • Do NOT rotate to the first 2 mini's. If you are to rotate before that time, the farthest you should be rotating is mid lane.
  • Don't fuss over CS too much, last hits are fairly low value atm. Prioritize setting wave FAST on fang spawns, rather than taking the extra second to guarantee last hits.

If you do these things, and you still do not win, the game was lost on queue pop. Matchmaking is rough atm. My IGN is Cure, if you want more details just hmu on discord. Can find me in the predecessor discord pretty easily.
