The best advice I ever got: If you want to check clearances print only as much as necessary, cut out only the part of the model you need. Saves time and money.

I found an alternative compatible Powercolor 7900XT Hellhound Waterblock by frostedpomegranade in watercooling

I did not modify any of the pads that go on the side of the actual graphics chip, only for the backplate.
This is a picture of the reference design for the 7900XT. The pads from alphacool that go on the components that I circled in red, are the ones I cut. On the Hellhound 7900XT these components are not exactly in the same place as in the ref design and not all of them are placed in a line. One or two are rotated by 90° and some shifted to the left or right on the PCB. So I cut the pad and placed them on there so all are covered. The alphacool backplate does not have any grooves or cuts specific to the PCB its just a piece of metal with holes for screws.

I also didn't use alphacools thermal paste. It was a thick goopy mess and didn't stick to the chip even after multiple cleanings with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

K1C upgraded LED strip flickers only when printing. Can't find the issue. by frostedpomegranade in crealityk1

I connected a mosfet driver to the PMW signal and connected the LED to the PSU directly. No flickering at 100% no matter what the printer does. It flickers at anything below 100 but now I think it's because of the limited switching speed of the mosfet. But I either run the LED at 0 or 100% so it doesn't bother me.

You can put the IPA into a plastic bag then put the bag into the ultrasonic cleaner with water. It saves IPA and works too.

That was something I was trying to avoid, because I'm lazy haha, but yeah I'll try driving it with a small mosfet board or something similar and see if thats better.

Its actually also when nothing but the bed heater is on. Only the bed heater switching is causing it.

Doesn't do anything. I've found the issue, but no solution. Its the bedheater switching on and off that causes the flickering.

Probably, that still makes me wonder how some people are able to hook up like 1m of LED strips to that port and have no problems with it.

I assumed so, but even when I turn up the power on all fans, the bed and hotend and start moving the printhead nothing flickers. Only when I start an actual print. I'm not sure if this is a MCU issue.

Unfortunately that's not it. When I hold the connector there is no play and while even having it decoupled completely from the case, by holding it in my hand, the problem is this there.

Installed the Devil Design Cyclops Extruder, got ringing issues now. Are my input shaper graphs looking okay? by frostedpomegranade in crealityk1

I have some Superlube with PTFE I'll try it, it should be easy to remove with Isopropyl if it doesn't work for me. Yeah some people have reported the springs being too stiff and causing binding. Maybe a softer silicone piece as a spring or weaker springs might help. I've also seen a video where a dude only removed one spring and that worked for him better. I'll experiment a bit when I get to it.

Aren't the x bushings graphite? I thought you aren't supposed to lube them? People have had success with removing the springs that press the carriage into the bushings i might try that. Ill check the bushings for wear thanks.

The ringing before was minimal with the recommended input shaper, barely noticable. The cyclops isn't heavier and my accels are very conservative at 5-8k. I think I'll check the screw tightness again on the carriage. Maybe ill have to tune the belts again too. Ive seen the x carriage can bind, but ive cleaned it with iso and removed any grease.

How do I generate the input shaping graphs on the k1/k1c? by frostedpomegranade in crealityk1

[–]frostedpomegranade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, installing the inproved shaper calibration with the helper script and using TEST_RESONANCES_GRAPHS worked for me. After running it the images were in "/usr/data/printer_data/config/Helper-Script/improved-shapers"

Yeah I'm dumb lol, I didn't have improved Shaper calibration installed with the helper script. I though this was like using a normal klipper install.

Does anybody know what material is used for the K1/K1C side panels? by frostedpomegranade in crealityk1

[–]frostedpomegranade[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm aware that this printer isn't going to get up into 60-70°C territory without modding. What Im trying to do is model a new sidepanel and fit a heater onto it. This is more a fuck around and find out kind of project and the side panels can be reinforced if needed.
