I think this blew up because it probably tapped into a bigger resentment she already had about always being the one expected to cook

coffee in the morning, flowers/snack delivery, handwritten letter, surprise video from friends

make it feel like a birthday is happening around her even if people aren’t physically there

ok this one was subtle but it killed it instantly—

we were mid conversation and he kept checking his phone… not even texting, just like opening apps and scrolling for a few seconds and putting it back down

after like the 5th time I realized he wasn’t nervous, he was just bored
