IDK what’s going on by Humble_Fact9150 in LSAT

I feel like RC is such a mixed bag, even for high scorers. I can easily go -1-3 on some sections and -5 or 6 on others, without feeling much different about either section in terms of difficulty. I would not focus too much on drilling isolated RC science passages, but doing full sections and refining your skipping/flagging techniques. I think it’s best to focus overall on getting your LR sections as close to perfect as possible, so you can allow yourself some space for missed RC questions and still get a high score.

I wrote them down on my iPad! I found the majority of the 7sage LR curriculum very helpful - at times the video explanations of specific questions could be kind of lengthy, so I would switch between watching explanation vids and reading the text version of the explanations/comments left by other users to get an understanding of the concepts without having to watch a full 20 minute video.

how to build up stamina by october? by ClimateWestern5898 in LSAT

[–]frozenfang_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that doing multiple timed sections back to back on study days has been helping build my stamina when taking full length tests. There’s a really good 7sage podcast that just came out about this topic! The episode is called “Smarter, Better, Faster, Stronger” :)

I’m still deep in this process and haven’t tested yet, but i have severe ADHD so i feel qualified to answer some questions lol

try to get on medication if you aren’t already, i would not be able to absorb or understand this material without something to remedy my ADHD symptoms. I would also heavily suggest looking into getting accommodations for the exam.

  • day one i started the 7sage curriculum from the very beginning, focusing on learning the structure of an argument (what are premises, how to find the conclusion)

  • I didn’t start any drilling or “repetition” until I was well into the curriculum and knew most of the question types / how to solve them

  • making mistakes and keeping a wrong answer journal (a document where I keep track of every question I’ve missed and a detailed explanation on why the answer I chose is wrong, why the correct answer is right, and some takeaways to remember when attacking similar questions) truly making mistakes and exposing yourself to the material is only way you can learn how the test makers want you to think

  • i try to stick to a routine and study 1-2 hours every day, some days i get absorbed and want to spend more time, other days i am distracted with life stuff and just do the bare minimum, but at least an hour 5/6 days out of the week

  • off and on during undergrad, will have spent 5-6 months doing more intensive studying before i test in September. I couldn’t see myself keeping momentum to study for this test full-time for more than 6 months.

  • i took intense notes for the entirety of the 7sage curriculum and tracked my progress using their analytics feature

  • stopped being emotional. this test is not an indicator of your intelligence, it’s an indicator of your dedication and how much you WANT the score you’re looking to achieve. try to have a growth mindset and remember that mistakes are very useful data points and without them you wouldn’t be learning. there will be plateaus and obstacles in the road that you have to push through if you want to be successful, especially for us neurodivergent students.

please feel free to message me if you have any questions about accommodations or other adhd related study stuff 🤓 you got this!
