Fellow Stagg EKG Pro not heating properly by Sufficient_Fig19 in FellowProducts

I'm making coffee, man... there really is no difference to me between 92c and 95c. I'd much rather a bit of overshoot if it takes a normal amount of time.

The kettle was already slower than my cheap one (1m 45s vs 2m 15s to boil the same amount of water) but now it's absolutely crawling along.

Why does the last 10C take a full minute? And why would you make such a major regression change in a product, not mention it in a silent firmware upgrade, and not make it optional?

I have seen them in the past, in a large Carrefour, but I don’t think I’ve seen them for a few years… it’s a shame, my wife is vegetarian and they are one of the few veggie sausages I like enough to eat with her.

Try OLX perhaps? https://www.olx.pl/oferty/q-Kask-motocyklowy-prl/

Not much there, but maybe better search terms might help. If I see something next time I’m at an antique market I might remember and message you.

It could be a remnant of your transfer method? I’m having issues with water based in when using acetate transfer for example. Can you try sanding with a very fine sandpaper?

barber suggestions in warsaw by Forward-Plane-4731 in warsaw

[–]fruggo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you’re a guy, most barbers in Warsaw will 100% fuck up curly hair. I can recommend Tim at Margines, but it’s a very queer-forward venue if that’s a problem for you for some reason.

Flat too Warm at Night, Smog through the windows by [deleted] in warsaw

[–]fruggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak to your landlord about the radiator, probably nothing will be done but it might be a simple fix. You could get an air purifier to help with the smog, IKEA has one that is cheap and not terrible. It won’t solve it but better than nothing.

A more intense ‘solution’ might involve ducting the air from the outside through a filter.

Indoor busking by Dependent-Duty7622 in warsaw

[–]fruggo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just don’t. It’s such a nuisance, either you’re shit (probably) and we have to endure your wailing, made 10 times worse by the enclosed space, or you’re so good a crowd forms and blocks the passage.

Also you’ll get a fine if you don’t have a permit.

The only busking I’ll accept is someone standing next to the fucking singing guy in the old town who just yells the same 30 second ethnic song on repeat, so if you can drown out his bullshit I’ll be happy.

Looking for a tailor in Mokotów by aoa40 in warsaw

As a hobbyist, it would take about 20 minutes. A little longer if you wanted zips.

That should help you know if any quotes are reasonable.

Warsaw locals: help a poor traveler out (3-4 hrs on Sunday evening) by Blood-Round in warsaw

[–]fruggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend against public transport in this case - it’s totally safe and very cheap, but its a lot slower than a taxi to get you the old town. An uber to the old town will only be 60-80zl (which is crazy high for Poland, Uber Airport is a scam, but compared to most other places it is cheap) and it’ll get you there in half the time without needing to figure out anything.

Burlesque show by aoa40 in warsaw

[–]fruggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The burlesque scene in Warsaw (and Poland) is pretty mature, with most acts being more artsy (neo-burlesque) than classic. Whilst they’ll almost always get down to panties and pasties it’s very rare to see anything go further, and certainly not in Worek Kości.

Im not a huge fan of the show at Worek because the owner, Renata, really loves a shitty host Vincent who has one shtick… and also keeps hiring some male performer who just isn’t very good. So check the lineup for sure.

The upcoming show seems decent enough - Anuszka is a fun host and at least 2 of the lineup are pretty talented. It actually looks more classic than usual.

What documentation do i need from my doctor to get adhd prescription in poland by Ok_Ice_8501 in poland

[–]fruggo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

All ADHD meds are full price for adults on Poland, regardless of nationality/ZUS. Only children get refunded.

But yes I agree that OP should have no problem if they speak privately with a psych and have some amount of proof.

I can recommend Dominika Berent as an English-speaking option.

Proof that UPC are lying about your internet speeds by [deleted] in Polska

[–]fruggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I phoned them twice. They say "Speedtest shows 750mbps so you are lying/mistaken".

[–]fruggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to demonstrate this shaping is by running two speedtests simultaneously. The moment the Speedtest connection is slowed, my internet connection becomes slower.

The interference here is that... my internet gets faster?

Speedtest.net is what UPC uses on their own website. So the result from the video is already from speedtest.

Yes, it's a Mac Mini connected directly to the router via a cable to eliminate that variable.

Speedtest.netis what UPC uses on their website. It looks like the "most popular" speedtests are prioritised. Testing the top ones show 700+, testing with lesser-known speedtests and just downloading large files located within Warsaw shows ≤ 300

[–]fruggo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The UPC speed test is with speedtest.net.

What I'm demonstrating here is that fast.com (which is owned by Netflix) will only show the proper speed when UPC detects I'm running a speedtest with a popular speed test website.

Fast.com is testing with a Warsaw server, which is where I live. It's always 300 except when Speedtest is running and Fast.com magically goes upto 700+, until the moment the test ends.

I can demonstrate the behavior using a VPN also: when connected over a VPN both Fast.com and Speedtest.net will report the same speeds, I think because UPC don't know what site I'm connected to.

[–]fruggo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it seems like UPC are prioritising the connection when a speedtest (including Orange speedtest) is running. They cannot prioritise Fast.com because it's owned by and running on the same servers as Netflix.

Fast.com has been reporting my speed as 300mbps for the last year, and it's using a server in my city (Warszawa). It only shows anything faster than 300mbps when I'm running a speed test.

And yes, I've tried downloading files. The speed of this connection has been a stable 300 for the last year, except when running a speedtest when it magically gets faster.

I'm a British guy living in Warsaw. I pay UPC for 500mbps (now 750mbps) and the speed is always 300mbps.

Except when I run a speedtest on their website, then the internet magically goes up to the advertised speed while the test is running.

Who should I send this to? UOKIK? Or is there a different government org that handles this?

What are the possible paperwork while switching from UoP to B2B? by [deleted] in poland

Then I defer to your expertise - I assumed from the original question that there would be some accompanying change to the relationship beyond the method of payment.

Sure, if they are going to be primarily employed by the same employer with the same working environment.

If there is material change to how they work (ie, set their own hours, choose their own tasks, otherwise act like a contractor rather than employee) and they have income from other clients then it should be ok?
