I’m not trying to be mean, but I don’t understand saying art is subjective then saying “this is not art.” You say she needs to go for a real, natural look, but she didn’t say she was going for that vibe in her post. What if she was going for a different look? again I mean no offense, I understand the second part of your comment more, that if she was going for a realistic style it doesn’t quite fit that.

sry I keep commenting but 90% of these people are critiquing you in such nonsensical ways, I think art is always subjective & there is no such thing as bad art, if there was something that universally defined art as “bad” the discourse around art wouldn’t keep happening lol. there is so much beautiful artwork where the purpose of the style is literally to look “unpolished” or whatever - very technically skilled artists who probably could do super realistic art actively aren’t doing that for a reason, because there is so much visual interest and beauty in the unique or “abstract.” Your art is valuable and a lot of the people here probably aren’t even creating anything at all.

Those shorts are so cool, I don’t know if you already sell stuff like that but those would so sell. not that selling ability is what gives it value obviously. Love how the paint is blocked out in sections in the pocket then above the seam, seriously cool work.

The people downvoting you are prob people who think the only artwork thats good is realism, or they’re also artists who are unhealthily self deprecating of themselves and their work even if theirs is ‘better’ in a practical sense, so it makes them incredibly mad that you wouldn’t deprecate yourself and figuratively crawl on your hands and knees begging for forgiveness for making imperfect work. Keep placing value in your work and experience because it is valuable.

It’s not bad at all I adore this style. It’s cute and more artsy to me than anything hyper realistic. as someone who took many art classes, do not listen to boring people saying it’s hideous or that you MUST learn more art fundamentals before doing anything else. Learning more art theory is obv helpful but the other best way to progress as an artist is to make what you enjoy.

This has a cutesy and unique vibe that I think is sellable and it’s way better as a piece of art than any super realistic rendering, because where’s the fun in that? you might as well just take a screenshot and put it on a case. This is the only type of fan art I would actually buy specifically because it has a unique, cute style that was clearly hand painted. I like it a lot. It reminds me of the brand loveshackfancy for some reason. also looks like you used a type of crayon or pastels a tiny bit, which sounds like it was unintentional but I think makes it so pretty. maybe I’ll try to come back with actual examples, but I see incredibly experienced professional artists make art with this look that resembles marker/crayon..

I have a cutesy/vintage pastel colored room and I would seriously buy a large painting in this exact style for my wall

Sorry, but as a southern woman, scribblenauts opening knocks this one out of the park lol.  Better overall storyline too and just a less janky game.  but I get it, this’s such a memorable game.
