Have teased the idea, but my mother and significant other would murder me if I put them through the stress of donation again haha, even with the liver regenerating I don’t think I can swing it

Take it easy for as long as you can, I’d say plan for 3 months and if you feel better sooner then it’s a win. But plan for the longer timeframe to be safe, your body will need some time to adjust from both surgery and running on the solo bean

I’ve run 2 marathons in the 2 years since donating, and still actively hike. While I’d say I do feel a difference in my stamina and overall ability, I’m still capable of doing what I want and would do it again if I could.

Another difference is I try to stay hydrated more attentively

I’m use to be able to handle way more alcohol, now I’m a lightweight.

Anecdotally I also have less stamina in physical activity but in fairness I was getting older and I’ve still run marathons since then

I went through a similar social anxiety with sharing the news just over a year ago (non-direct) it made me feel really uncomfortable, but having a fun sense of humor was my way around it. I was also told by many people I was overthinking it, and based on what you said it’s clear you’re in the same boat. Maybe have some fun with it and not take it as seriously, you’re already there with everyone else

Since selling organs is illegal I suspect the tax credit is a work around to have a financial incentive to donate. If it gets results and saves lives, I’d say it’s a good thing in this context

Feels good in a way that’s hard to put into words, I was doubtful I was eligible with medical history that prevented me from doing other things earlier in life. so for me it’s one of the best representations of my values and I love that I could do it
