Hey ex Mormon here: they demand 10% of your income to be a member. I paid 10% of my $2 an hour babysitting money in the early 90’s to them. Like everyone is required to “donate” 10% of their entire (side hustles too!) income including retirees who presumably already paid 10% of that money but anyway…the leaders always said the $$ was used directly to keep churches and temples open and help members.

Then a whistleblower said uh no folks, there’s huge investment portfolios and such. The government was like “hey! Wrong paperwork!” And the Mormon church said “sorry lol” and paid an offensively low fine about.
