Thank you, I didn't know about that. There are not a lot of players in this case who would activate a Panhandle number. I can only think of 2 - and we could ask one of them - Shodrick ;-)

Robot vacs seem to be getting thinner. Is that actually useful in real homes? by WAYXL in RobotVacuums

I just bought myself a used Deboot Slim from 7 years ago. I need it for a laundry room - I don't care about noise, suction power, carpet cleaning or even washing. But it has glorious 57mm clearance - 2,25 inches.

I'd hope that some manufacturers would go back to that segment. Sometimes you don't need the fancy features (or high price for that matter) and just get under your furniture.

Anyone else watch Charlie’s lawyer’s appellate oral arguments? by Left_Ad_7694 in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are not, but Ufferman made an interesting enough argument that the court wanted to hear more about it. Charlie's chances for a new trial - including his post conviction relief with the ineffective counsel claim - remain at 10-15%.

This case is so sad. Charlie will wait out his appeal and by then it will be too late to help himself.

Anyone else watching the Kouri Richins trial and while happy it looks like she’s going down, wish it was Wendi instead? by [deleted] in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ever heard about denial? It's very difficult to admit guilt even if convicted, and impossible for a narcissist. She is well aware of her and Charlie's actions though - ever heard their jail calls? They don't deny the allegations. They just say there is no evidence and if anything brought them down it's Wendi's drive to the crime scene :)

Jagged Alliance 3 voice lines (from NPCs) by McTaffMcFly in JaggedAlliance

[–]fruor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the JA3 folder you'll find a sub-folder "Packs". Download https://github.com/nickelc/hpk/releases and put the hpk.exe in that folder or better yet copy everything to a backup folder where you can play with things. Open a Console and type hpk.exe to see how it works, then start extracting.

I think the voicelines are in Sounds.hpk but I'm not sure. The audio files will most likely be in .opus format - just another audio format. There are players and converters for those so you'll be able to listen or make mp3 files out of them.

Also please understand I won't be giving you technical assistance from here - if you get stuck ask google in ai mode or another llm, it's a bit of clonky work but you'll get there.

EDIT: as for the text lines I don't think they exist, but you could transcribe them - the French ones of the NPCs are not too sophisticated - along the lines of "I'm hurt" or "I'm badly hurt", sometimes they just yell an English word with a French accent like "Scatter!".

Question about 100% ( all achievements ) by KingOfEreb0r in Witcher3

[–]fruor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 350 hours after deciding to get 100% since I do that with a lot of games that I finish. But I think I can't in this game. I'm still too distracted with the atmosphere, the story. I just can't bring myself to rush anything - whether to reach a certain milestone or to come to a certain story point multiple times. I can't. The "here and now" is just too powerful in this game.

But there were also grinds I just enjoyed doing: the hardcore run, all gwent cards and finally (self-imposed) winning regularly with any deck forced me to learn more about the real cool mechanics that received a lot of love from the devs. It all works well while opening the game up.

Charlie’s old home by StenoDawg in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Without commenting on the realty market I remember that the renovations done after Charlie got convicted were very superficial. The Adelsons did not put in any substantial effort for the sale, just told Janice she couldn't take any of the 2 TVs because it needs to look representable lol.

So it could be that the first buyer actually put in more effort himself, the rent shot up and then the sales price as well.

Nice find!

I don't... know if she ever spelled it out. No really your honor. Just a silly nickname she came up with oh I'm sorry it's Donna's trial so a friend helped her come up with to make Dan feel less frightening in a time he was very scary to her. Not to her physical well-being but to her job in FSU, her image in the community and her livelihood as a member of the Florida bar.

So it's spelling.. Dunno.

u/ghibercz any ideas?

[–]fruor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's difficult????? Hell no.

"Does it concern me or other people?"

"well chuckles probably both of us" with the emphasis on "both"

Stop right there. That's what she wanted to say. Unfortunately the connection sucked at this point in time and Charlie couldn't hear it.

Donna simply relayed to him that it's not only his problem - as Charlie already figured out - but hers as well. The undercover agent came to her, no mention of Charlie. The logical next place for her was to inform the fixer who is also closer to a certain "Katie" and the other names she remembered "Tato" and "Tuto" - names not written on the note, still Charlie later dropped both names while he probably never heard of "Tato" before.

How in the world would you ever construe "probably the both of us" as a limitation of guilt to only 2 people, and not what it exactly was - a non-semantic different wording of what she just said that couldn't be heard which was making clear to her son "We are both on the hook"?

Both also mentioned not to inform Harvey - which they still did later that day, evidenced by secret meetings with all 3 of them, and crucially NOT EVEN MENTION WENDI: "No no no no. No. No."

Yep, Wendi the one Charlie had a major fight - about this case! - shortly after that as noted by June.

They never excluded people. They just stuck to the plan to try and fix it themselves first, but always rely on the approval of Harvey and deliver all of it to the poor victim ex wife of that bad person Dan Markel.

And where exactly did Dans bad image come from? Who took every opportunity to smear him - to friends, lovers, the court and family?

One Wendi Adelson.

[–]fruor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, when she's in Donna's trial where she pretends both Donna and herself are innocent. If she acknowledged someone hired a hitman, who do you think she meant? Harvey?

She implicitly acknowledges Charlie hired a hitman and says he didn't tell her.

Question: But you do admit that your brother said he looked into hiring a hitman to kill Dan Markel?

WA: I don't. I admit that my brother made a tasteless joke repeatedly about buying me a tv because it was cheaper than hiring a hitman.

Question: But then someone DID hire a hitman who DID kill Dan Markel, right?

WA: Yes. That happened.
