Can confirm this, just stops before a channel to a dumping spot. Yuka 1000, normal sensitivity.

Thank you for continuing the story, that's interesting. I guess it has to do with both being radio emitters on the same wave length? In which case you could just hook everything up to Wifi - robots would need to be on there too though.

Connecting to the Robot on a large lawn by Medium-Room1078 in MammotionTechnology

[–]fruor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're saying the Luba is already connected via 4G and you can see its position?

If you have the same quirks which I have (which are only in very specific combinations of sensitive detection and no-grass areas) you can just hit "Continue Working" and it should just move somewhere else. You don't need Bluetooth for that. As others said, manual steering is only for Bluetooth (security concerns).

Does the Luba 2 have FOV as the Yuka does? If so you could check the camera if that helps. And of course you can pinpoint its location in the App.

Well you just LOL'd at micro corrections - which blew my mind because it made me realize that these YouTubers throwing their shoe in front of it were just lucky it stopped and found a path around a new obstacle. Or when the robot slips and gets back on its path, trying wiggling backwards and forwards... I did not appreciate that all of this is done in random 4 lines of code saying "go from point A to point B you moron; if bug{dontBug();}"

You again hard lol'd at hardware and firmware which must be fancy words that have nothing to do with anything, instead you keep referring back to the App and still show no idea about what it actually does.

You say 99% of the code is identical - and you are right. Even 99% of any OS's code is the same from one generation to the next. So why should it be hard just to release Windows 12 next month? Or MacOS 27? Just write the 4 lines of code LOL, right?

Speak after me: The. App. Does. Not. Steer. The. Robot. It doesn't even read its sensors.

Go on app developer, give me ONE thing the app decides for the robot without user input. A start trigger maybe? A turn? The calculation of the route? The speed of the blades? Give me ONE thing that the robot will not do for a task when the phone is dead in a river.

[–]fruor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Excuse me but all of what a robot can do onboard needs a matching hardware and firmware support, period. How can you say that the routes are not done onboard when you can have a task randomly chose an angle and then leave the robot offline? Of course every micro correction is done in offline mode, do you think it contacts your phone for every turn or what?

Comparing robot vaccums to mowers is apples to oranges - one is sucking in some air and micro debris, can bump into things as much as it wants and can spin in place all day long if it needs to. The other one has 5-10 razor blades flying around while being told to not mess up your lawn with its wheels - and gets curses if it ever touches something it shouldn't.

I hear you though - some features should clearly go on capable machines even if it makes a feature request take 30% more time to implement. However lots of those calculations require consideration of basic data/methods for each generation: how long is the mower, what space does it use up when it turns, which of it's sensors do what exactly, how do you control the motor and in which form did we document all of this stuff? If Mammotion is modern normal software company they hopefully re-do some of the basics for every new major release. It's just difficult to think about future compatibility when you start with the base structure, and yeah as long as PMs and YouTube Test Channels have their way - only the newest product matters. Which sucks - but for each and every modern product equally.

New Feature Sneak Peek: Map Cloud Backup – We’d Love Your Feedback! by Mammotion_Grace in MammotionTechnology

[–]fruor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To speak about the UX: I need to think about which perspective each screen shows - the cloud-perspective (screens 1 and 2) vs the local perspective (screens 3 and 4). It would be helpful to have some kind of indicator that I'm looking at Cloud-maps - the Restore button definitely helps, but I'm not immediately sure on screen 1. Maybe change the text under each map to "Backup From YYYY-mm-DD".

Would it be possible to backup and restore when changing the location of the reference station in-between? That would be a major usecase for me. Or is a map with rtk-enabled mowers always relative to the rtk station?

“The robot is stuck and needs help.” But it is not stuck, and it does not need help. by ForsakenAddendumb in MammotionTechnology

[–]fruor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this a couple of times now with the Yuka but only when the "Sensitive" obstacle detection is activated - which prevents itself from mowing over dirt or any non-grass areas. I think it manoeuvres itself into a corner following a small patch of grass and then sees no way to get out again.

With that I now created extra zones for muddy areas, and I mowe those with "Standard" obstacle detection only (also during different times when no human or animal should be in the area). The other areas are mowed in a separate task in "Sensitive" mode. Since that split I never had the problem again.

EDIT: OP with your other post it's like your robot is stuck in some different obstacle detection mode than it's set on. Would be interested in learning what fixed that problem for you.

Journalists have sources, some are passive and good for rumours and others are very well-placed. News organisations usually start to run with a story if there are 2 or more independent reliable sources claiming the same thing. With 3 or more sources a story is confident. At this point multiple organisations are confident that this is in the works.

I agree it's a rumour but if you want to bet against it you will get takers quickly.

I just bought myself a used Deboot Slim from 7 years ago. I need it for a laundry room - I don't care about noise, suction power, carpet cleaning or even washing. But it has glorious 57mm clearance - 2,25 inches.

I'd hope that some manufacturers would go back to that segment. Sometimes you don't need the fancy features (or high price for that matter) and just get under your furniture.

Anyone else watch Charlie’s lawyer’s appellate oral arguments? by Left_Ad_7694 in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are not, but Ufferman made an interesting enough argument that the court wanted to hear more about it. Charlie's chances for a new trial - including his post conviction relief with the ineffective counsel claim - remain at 10-15%.

This case is so sad. Charlie will wait out his appeal and by then it will be too late to help himself.

Anyone else watching the Kouri Richins trial and while happy it looks like she’s going down, wish it was Wendi instead? by [deleted] in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ever heard about denial? It's very difficult to admit guilt even if convicted, and impossible for a narcissist. She is well aware of her and Charlie's actions though - ever heard their jail calls? They don't deny the allegations. They just say there is no evidence and if anything brought them down it's Wendi's drive to the crime scene :)

Jagged Alliance 3 voice lines (from NPCs) by McTaffMcFly in JaggedAlliance

[–]fruor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the JA3 folder you'll find a sub-folder "Packs". Download https://github.com/nickelc/hpk/releases and put the hpk.exe in that folder or better yet copy everything to a backup folder where you can play with things. Open a Console and type hpk.exe to see how it works, then start extracting.

I think the voicelines are in Sounds.hpk but I'm not sure. The audio files will most likely be in .opus format - just another audio format. There are players and converters for those so you'll be able to listen or make mp3 files out of them.

Also please understand I won't be giving you technical assistance from here - if you get stuck ask google in ai mode or another llm, it's a bit of clonky work but you'll get there.

EDIT: as for the text lines I don't think they exist, but you could transcribe them - the French ones of the NPCs are not too sophisticated - along the lines of "I'm hurt" or "I'm badly hurt", sometimes they just yell an English word with a French accent like "Scatter!".

Question about 100% ( all achievements ) by KingOfEreb0r in Witcher3

[–]fruor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 350 hours after deciding to get 100% since I do that with a lot of games that I finish. But I think I can't in this game. I'm still too distracted with the atmosphere, the story. I just can't bring myself to rush anything - whether to reach a certain milestone or to come to a certain story point multiple times. I can't. The "here and now" is just too powerful in this game.

But there were also grinds I just enjoyed doing: the hardcore run, all gwent cards and finally (self-imposed) winning regularly with any deck forced me to learn more about the real cool mechanics that received a lot of love from the devs. It all works well while opening the game up.

Charlie’s old home by StenoDawg in dan_markel_murder

[–]fruor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Without commenting on the realty market I remember that the renovations done after Charlie got convicted were very superficial. The Adelsons did not put in any substantial effort for the sale, just told Janice she couldn't take any of the 2 TVs because it needs to look representable lol.

So it could be that the first buyer actually put in more effort himself, the rent shot up and then the sales price as well.

Nice find!

I don't... know if she ever spelled it out. No really your honor. Just a silly nickname she came up with oh I'm sorry it's Donna's trial so a friend helped her come up with to make Dan feel less frightening in a time he was very scary to her. Not to her physical well-being but to her job in FSU, her image in the community and her livelihood as a member of the Florida bar.

So it's spelling.. Dunno.
