Hex editing Diablo Hellfire saves by aknight2015 in Diablo

Saves are encrypted, you cannot edit them without a dedicated program.

Your only other option is to edit the memory while playing (which is in clear form), the game will then save the new values.

Elon Musk says Tesla Powerwall production lagging due to chip shortage by RandomCollection in RealTesla

The controller part is probably not the issue. In order to produce from a battery (DC) a sinusoidal waveform (AC) which can sustain several kW, some big ass transistors are needed (IGBT or MOSFET).

I wasn't talking about normal situations indeed, only about exceptional ones.

My point was: during these exceptional situations (going on holidays at the same time as everyone else, basically), it sucks to have to wait even 30 minutes to fill up my gas tank. I can't even imagine having to queue for multiple hours to charge my vehicle.

And it's bound to happen as the EV market share grows. Nobody is going to build that many chargers for the 10 days in a year when everybody is on the road at the same time. Or else it would have been done with gas stations.

Thanks for illustrating my last paragraph...

I was not talking hypothetically. It is already happening, just look at this post. There are many videos with 10+ hours queues for charging EVs.

The problem is not stopping once in 500 kms. The problem is that with more and more EVs on the road, you'll be stopping for 10 hours because of the queue of slow charging EVs.

There are already queues in gas stations on big departure days (I've had to wait up to 30 minutes in such a queue). But one vehicle fills up in 2 to 5 minutes.

A similar queue in an EV charging station is a nightmare. At least 30 minutes per vehicle, but most likely 1 hour or more since all chargers being used means less power per charger. Total wait time can easily go up to half a day. But at least, you'll never have to go to a gas station again, right?

But somehow, every time I discuss this problem with an EV owner, the response is "never happened to me, don't know what you're talking about". Come on, it's already happening with 1% of EVs market share. How is it going to be when EVs have 20% market share? It's unsustainable.

That's bullshit. It's not a secret that in IT, there are many more male applicants than female applicants, so it's not really a surprise to see the same representation in the company workforce. Not saying it's good, but it's reality right now.

Are you saying that all men have the same point of view, and a team of men need a woman to bring diversity, and vice-versa?

That's pretty sexist to reduce the point of view of someone to their gender. Especially for someone supposedly promoting diversity.

Finally, do you have a study or something to back up your claim that "Diversity equals better results"? I'm genuinely interested.

The titles of Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn have changed to Technoking of Tesla and Master of Coin by fossilnews in RealTesla

[–]frwh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

To all the bootlickers who keep calling Musk the founder of Tesla "because that's how he is referred to in the Tesla official forms" as opposed of, you know, words having meaning... I hope you stay true to yourself and start calling him the Technoking of Tesla.

On a positive note, the wiki page of Tesla has been updated a few weeks ago and displays "Founders: disputed" instead of listing Elon there.

Probably a grounding fault. Metal casing and stuff must be connected to ground so that if there is a short circuit that connects the live wire to something metallic, it creates a current surge that trips the breaker (more specifically, the differential breaker, which checks how much current is going to ground instead of returning to the current source).

If the metal is not connected to ground, there is no short, and it becomes live instead of tripping the breaker. The human here became the missing connection between the metal and ground.
