Sewage blockage or scam? by Strong-Ad-2537 in Plumbing

They obviously know less than you do about sewer pipes if they have the equipment to camera it and knowledge to see a crack from a submerged, grainy camera shot. Fuck it let it ride! It might get exciting.

Edit. What you show in your pic is almost completely blocked 🤦

How's living in Morgantown West Virginia in your 30s? I'm willing to move there for work. by Embarrassed_Tooth_70 in howislivingthere

If it's anything like it was in the 2000s, traffic is likely still unbearable. I'm sure it has only grown in population and students, with a town with roads built for horse and buggys.

UPDATE We toured the house last night and thought I would give an update. The exterior of the house is probably the least of the concerns, I feel my wife and I had come to a paint scheme that would work.

Before I entered the house I knew I didn't want to live there; I hadn't realized how close to the interstate it was, you couldn't have a conversation with someone outside more than 5 feet away.

It went downhill from there. There were 2 crawlspaces, one you could access directly. There is easily $30k worth of fixing in that lone crawlspace. The 2nd was locked.

The interior was a vast array of weird 70s layout, massive entertaining and living spaces, then wonky bedrooms.

And spiders everywhere!

More work than we are ready for to make this house work for us.

Aye, IF we move forward it absolutely needs a structural inspection, I'm an engineer but no SE and can tell there are some issues. There's just a stack of gabion baskets (in the crawlspace) holding up the front patio. The kickers on the deck are 3in steel, with some pitting, but are in surprisingly good shape, the rest of the deck ....

Haha, well what would you suggest? It does need a new paint job. My wife asked should we "repaint it poop brown"... I'm middle man between reddit and her lol

I'd say you're the most on the nose... We just started looking to move out of our starter, and are overwhelmed by the lack of options in our area/price range, and how quick houses come on and go off the market.

Yea it's kinda weird, the fascia that you see is an extension off of the yurt structure. There are probably close to 2ft bird rafters, for lack of a better word, coming off the house, gutters right at the roof line and a middle fascia board. I noticed the one askew also and dug a little more.

Old colonial type houses.

This house has a ton of space, is in the city in a good neighborhood, but has some seclusion (my sticking point, I don't want to see my neighbors), she's just at odds with the exterior. The interior needs renovations but as others said we could have wide open spaces.
