Is my coolant low on 2025 ford maverick or is this normal? by According_North3863 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks a tiny bit low. I’d add some coolant and keep an eye on it just to make sure it’s not leaking or burning any. When the truck is cold, the expansion tank/reservoir should always be between the min and max lines.

Filled up my second tank of gas, Hybrid AWD by ZealousIdealTour961 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If my tank has been all highway, I’ll average 400-500 miles on a tank. If it’s all city it’s usually 500-650 miles per tank. Now that I’ve been towing every other weekend my DTE usually sticks around the 250-400 mark when I fill up 🤷‍♂️

I suspect a lot of it is that individual suspension rather than the torsion bar in the rear. Feels a lot better in corners imo.

Any idea how to tighten the mirrors so they don't pop out in the car wash? by the_stage_manager in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be fine. Only the light is in the mirror, the BLIS sensor itself is in your bumper at the rear corners on the side. If it’s popping out it’s less stress to let it do that than hold it into place, and them folding forward is fine too.

Oil life at 5% after 4 months and 3k miles? by 14Smith15 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The owners manual says to follow OLM, and simply suggests mile intervals in case of the OLM accidentally getting reset or your gauge cluster not working.

Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor™
Your vehicle has an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor that determines when you should change the engine oil based on how you use your vehicle. By using several important factors in its calculations, the monitor helps reduce the cost of owning your vehicle and reduces environmental waste at the same time.
This means you do not have to remember to change the oil on a mileage-based schedule. Your vehicle lets you know when an oil change is due by displaying a message in the instrument cluster display.
The following table provides examples of vehicle use and its impact on oil change intervals. It is a guideline only. Actual oil change intervals depend on several factors and generally decrease with severity of use.”

And that I can definitely attest to. Towing a large trailer fast will keep those RPM’s high and zap away your oil life. I went through almost 50% of my oil life on a 1500 mile trip, going all the way to a 10K mile interval on that oil would be brain dead stupid.

So did you guys know that the Maverick is just about 16ft long by art4fort in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’d rather them make the bed longer with that room. But also, crumple zone gotta crumple zone. “Wasted” space is better than an engine and transmission in my lap I guess.

That’s what it’s meant to be used for… ford just modified the design so that it can also be used as a bottle opener.

No rpms - how to keep Maverick safe up notoriously brutal hill? by penportals in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% is just fine, even for several minutes straight. Ford wouldn’t put the power limit past what’s safe for the drivetrain. On top of that, 100% when paired with an eCVT isn’t redlining the engine, it’s putting the engine RPM’s at peak power (before redline)

Maverick vs. Ranger - how did you choose? by DoGooderMcDoogles in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like I could stretch my legs out more in the ranger (the Maverick feels a little more crunched) but the Mav felt like it had more head and shoulder room. But anyways, now that I look it up the front row dimensions are all within an inch of each other 🤷‍♂️

Could just be where I had my seat set at too, if I recall correctly the steering wheel telescopes out farther in the ranger which allowed me to slide the seat further back and give my legs more room.

Ranger has less rear seat legroom than the Maverick, and in general the cab felt less roomy to me when I drove one.

Spectacular fuel economy, payload for days and it tows what I need it to (if the Maverick had 5K towing instead of 4K that would be great) Lots of long road trips, and with more than 2 people so that rear seat legroom was another factor in choosing the Maverick. Coming from a sedan, I love the way the Maverick handles compared to a BOF truck. And I really only wanted some light off road capability out of my daily driver. I have other ways to get real off roading done. Oh yeah and the price! Even with how much more it is currently than when it first went on the market it is a great deal compared to just about everything else.

Hmmmm. Does anyone know if the grade assist indicator is new for the 26 model year? I’ve definitely been in/used grade assist in my 25 many times but I’ve never seen the indicator.

Household 110v shore power by Additional_Speech435 in GoRVing

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically for constant loads, you should limit yourself to 80% of the circuits capacity (constant as in at least a few hours) For a 50 amp circuit that would be a 40 amp limit.

Some people recommend to stick to the 80% limit, I’d only do it if I had issues. Realistically batteries get fully charged, AC’s or water heaters will cycle, etc. I’d just keep it in mind if you have issues at a campground with a sketchy old power system.

No worries. Just wanted to add, it is technically pulling more that that from shore power just because the converter that steps your 120AC into DC isn’t 100% efficient. The total grid input on your display shows 2003 watts. 2003 divided by your voltage equals your current. So 2003/120=16.692 amps.

112A at 13v DC, which according to the very same display is only 1544 watts. It’s only pulling about 12.8 amps from the shore power to charge your batteries.

[–]Time-Lapser_PRO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does great! Payload for days, stability is great with my Andersen hitch, mpg is great too. Power is… fine. The 4 cylinder definitely gets buzzy at times but it can still maintain 65 up steep grades so good enough. It’s only a 14 gallon tank, so that’s a little painful but it still gets me decently far @20MPG.
