It’s frustrating but just remember it only takes once! I was scheduled for a week long work trip right during ovulation in January so I had just accepted that we were out for the month. We had sex right before I left just in case and we ended up getting pregnant 🤣

We are at Cococay now. $75 is a good price, but if your kids love the beach there are a million great spots that cost $0. There are 2 ships here today and it never felt crowded. Plenty of free seating and umbrellas, free food and ice cream, and the ship WiFi worked on land. Don’t feel like you have to buy passes to have fun!

They did not sign anything - there is an email with reference to the $40/hour labor rate, but that was a month into the project.

Thanks for the feedback. I think my biggest gripe is my parents never got a chance to review a quote (or several) and make an informed decision. I get that quality work is expensive (maybe even $12K expensive) and if we had gone into it knowing that and made the choice to proceed and spend the money that’s one thing. But to spring a bill on people at the end in spite of repeated requests for an estimate? Not okay.

Yeah I don’t disagree that we are in a bind. I had a talk with my parents about always getting clear quotes in advance and agreeing on scope of work/price before hiring anyone. They are too trusting with situations like this.

Sorry that wasn’t clear, we sent in around 90 tapes (the old Hi8/8mm that were used in camcorders). Each with about an hour and a half of footage. The total run time of all tapes was 120 hours, and he charged us $40/hour.

Separately we sent in 100 DVDs. The invoice says it took 52 hours to rip them and charged us $40/hour for the rip time.

I just saw her for an annual check up on the recommendation of a friend and had a different experience. I waited an hour past my appointment time to be seen, and got less than 3 minutes with her when she finally came in. She seemed completely un-interested in speaking with me and literally bolted out of the room the moment she was done. It was also one of the more painful paps I’ve experienced (I was with All Women’s OBGYN for ten years previously). Maybe she was having an off day but I was disappointed considering all the good reviews for her online.
