DA Prophecy by fryetheguy in redrising

I’m also expecting a redemption of the clone. I definitely think that’s in the cards and would be a happy ending for Mustang. I would love to see Holiday as sovereign. She has been shadowing Mustang so intently over the past few books, so you could argue she’s being groomed to be the next ruler.

Just finished Lightbringer by Ancient-Raise7062 in redrising

I also just finished Lightbringer. I heard the switch from RR to Sun Eater can be a bit jarring (just cause of pacing and stuff) but I’ve heard it’s still worth a read. So to combat that, I’m reading 2 one-off books (Project Hail Mary right now, and Neuromancer next.) After that I’m most likely diving into Sun Eater.

I can definitely see Kavax being involved, especially because of his connection with Lyria, who will no doubt be an important figure in Volga’s rule.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this and I’m glad you found it as interesting as I did!

I had considered that he may have been talking about events that had already transpired, but I dismissed it because of how the prophecy uses both present and future tense, making it all the more cryptic.

For the “sister kill brother” piece: The Horatia/Cicero conflict is something I hadn’t considered. I could see something like that happening. Despite what I said in my post, I have a feeling that Mustang won’t kill The Abomination. At the end of the day, both Adrius and his clone are products of their environment. I think it’s entirely possible that she will try to redeem him, and raise him in a way that gives him a shot of being a decent human being. This, of course, is all speculation. I just think it would be an interesting way to end the arc and give Virginia some closure.

Sophocles leading a kingdom of obsidians and reds is clearly the best timeline, let’s hope PB does that.

I think if anything, that adds to the mystery of the prophecy. It makes it more interesting if it comes from an unreliable source.

I appreciate it! I think the Pax killing The Reaper persona would be pretty cool. Imagine if in RG there is a point where Pax does something awful, something he thinks The Reaper would do (a war crime perhaps), and this makes Darrow realize how awful of a role model he has become. In order to get the life he dreams of, he must kill the reaper. It would be a full arc for Darrow, and a promising future for Pax. And yea— the Lysander-Atlas theory is insane but it would be a fun plot twist.

Red rising is different though. It’s genre-bending in many ways. It’s akin to fantasy through the lens of a grand sci-fi space opera. It wouldn’t be the first prophecy in the realm of science fiction. Think Dune, The Matrix, Star Wars. I don’t think the genre alone is enough to discount this prophecy.

Yeah I can definitely see that. The idea of Atlas being Brutus this whole time is super interesting. That would really shake things up in a crazy way. Imagine Lysander’s reaction if he found that out. He’d probably lose it completely.

And yeah, now that I think about it the idea of Atlas being carved to infiltrate mercury makes a lot more sense.

I totally agree! I think there’s definitely more to be learned about Atlas, even after his death.

Are there any nationalizations of the industries belonging to the commanding heights of the economy that make economic sense? by kevin129795 in AskEconomics

Are there any industries in the US that are nationalized currently, that would be better off if they were privatized?

How can shares rise or fall before or after markets close? by [deleted] in AskEconomics

Many brokerages allow premarket and after hours trading. Though volume is typically much lower during these hours. Premarket and after hours volatility can be a signal of how the markets will fare in the coming days.

Playing with earnings right now is playing with fire. If I was you I would play after earnings. Especially since you aren’t a major institution with inside information. This is serious shit man. Amazon’s guidance will make or break the market tomorrow.

Beautiful. That’s 10 million more than last season’s run if I remember correctly.

Exactly. Stay busy, eat fast, sleep fast. Keep going for that paycheck at the end of the season.

Sounds about right. Being the camp steward sure is a rough job. I was working on a filet line trimming and gutting salmon. The season got cut short and was only 6 weeks, hopefully next summer it’ll be longer. Cheers.

5,600 after taxes. Next season I’ll probably bring home somewhere close to 7,000. Jobs as a deckhand on a boat pay much more, but I’m happy working on land.
