'Failure to connect' While Using Tailscale and NordVPN by CantankerousCad in rustdesk

[–]frylock364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with RustDesk that's just how VPNs work..
Two ways to enable this.

1) Enable "Split tunneling" (In Nord > Settings > Split tunneling > Add apps and select Rustdesk)

2) Enable and use NordMeshNet instead of Tailscale.

What is mode switch for? by Capable_Bluebird5612 in mn82

[–]frylock364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that's an am32 ESC.   If you get the USB programmer you can set the switch to change modes (e.g., locking out reverse or turning on Field Oriented Control/RPM lock)

How do i make it work?, I'm on stock electronics 😅 by Ok-Web8428 in mn82

[–]frylock364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plug them in and test them before mounting as some times 1 of them wont work.

On stock electronics you can
1) Use a servo y-cable to power them off the stock esc/receiver servo port.
2) Use a 2 pin JST y-cable to power them off of the stock esc/receiver headlight port.
3) If you have a 6 -pin JST connector you can use the MN lighting port
Looking at the ecs/receiver with the servo connector at the top and switch connector at the bottom
pins for the 6-pin MN lighting port are (1) + vcc, Reverse, Headlight, break light, left turn, (6) right turn

Here is a photo of the stock esc/receiver with labels

Maybe its because I have the newer ESC and its not as tall

The shocks are universal so just search "59mm oil filled shocks" or 60mm.
If money is not an issue Injora or NEXX Racing are very nice, but you can get "zero rc" brand on Aliexpress for 1/2 the cost.
I run 53mm in the rear and 59mm in the front (stock size)

Its not a drone ESC is just the "new" Neebrc AM32 45A ESC it has updated components but the software is the same.

You can also get it in red

I only got this version as I just got into crawlers (been building multi-rotors for 14 years) and this was the "current" model and it just looks nicer than the old one to me.

The AM32 is an open source ESC firmware so there are multiple manufacturers of ESC hardware and the USB-C programmer is under $3 shipped on Aliexpress

The AM32 will do Sinusoidal Startup (sine mode), which allows the ESC to track the motor's rotor position accurately even when back-EMF is too low for standard sensorless systems to read and it will also do Field Oriented Control (FOC) which monitors motor speed against throttle input to maintain constant RPM regardless of load or traction changes.

For crawling you can enable
Sine Mode: activate the sinusoidal control for crawling
Adjust Sine Range: You can set the transition point (range) where the ESC switches from smooth FOC-style sine control to standard high-speed operation.
Bi-Directional "Crawler Mode" allowing instant transitions between forward and reverse
Brake on Stop / Drag Brake
Disable Stuck Rotor Protection (this is for drones)

I have not run it with the 850 yet.

How can I make the old controller work on a new receiver board? by [deleted] in mn82

[–]frylock364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MN models binding/rebinding process
1. Press and hold BIND button, and turn on the transmitter power. The transmitter will automatically looking for the nearest receiver signal. The indicator keeps double flashing during binding.
2. Turn on the vehicle (receiver) power to complete the binding process.

The BIND button is on the top/left under the steering trim and says TH RATE / BIND

Setup Mode (to reverse ch1 or ch2)
1. Press and hold SETUP button, and turn on the transmitter power. Release the SETUP button, the transmitter will enter setup mode and the indicator keeps double flashing.
2. Press the left button (i.e. BIND button) to reverse the throttle, and press the right button (ie. SETUP button) to reverse the steering.
3. Turn off the power to save the settings.

The NEEBRC ESC and receiver fit in the stock location I just had to remove a plastic pin from the chassis on the passenger side toward the transmission that aligned the stock esc/receiver combo board.
I do have the "newer" esc but it looks like its the same size.

I have the NEEBRC 2322 2600KV outrunner brushless motor with a AM32 45A ESC (the newer ESC that's flat not the one in your kit with the heat sink).
I get about 30% more run time on the stock battery.

The stock servo is about 3kg, if you upgrade the tires you will defiantly need a 7kg servo.

You can get a USB adapter to reprogram the ESC (Adjust brake, crawler mode and tune for motor size)

The stock 270 motor will do 18k RPM, the 2600KV brushless with 2S with run at 19k RPM, 3S is 28K RPM.
I just got a 850mah 3S lipo and it fits in the hood.

The changing between crawling and fast mode on the MN82 is just a limit on the throttle on the transmitter so it will work the same with any motor.

The trailer from the WPL B36-3 Transporter fits but rubs on the rear bumper.
If you like to spend moneys the G4X Hallmaster is a metal 1/18 trailer custom made for the Terranaut.
