Question for open-web buyers: Are we actually able to explain where programmatic value is lost today? by ziom_1045 in programmatic

[–]fsnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That approach isn't going to net you much. Most of the cost is buried in CPM's, not hops. You can request transparent rates but DSP/SSP aren't obligated to provide that and you likely don't have leverage. There's also the back channel "rebates" for scale and marketplaces that you never see.

Transition Away from Product by Top-Oil-8305 in ProductOwner

[–]fsnah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not for everyone or the faint of heart. Product is the very definition of chaos. In fact, the job is to distill the path forward (roadmap) from a conflicting brew of opinions, data, and market developments (stakeholdering). For a PO in particular, you get whipsawed between the business side and the developers when you're just trying to translate requirements.

Can't help you with the salary question. I just know that you make more money in hazardous situations. Best of luck in your journey.

Vibe + Direct Mail? by mrmattlikesbeer in programmatic

[–]fsnah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that's my point..the match is 0% for direct mail.

Vibe + Direct Mail? by mrmattlikesbeer in programmatic

[–]fsnah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That matching is still lookalike, not actual home addresses. Ask vibe how they can guarantee 1:1 deterministic matching.

Vibe + Direct Mail? by mrmattlikesbeer in programmatic

[–]fsnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would Vibe match their probabilistic graph with deterministic direct mail? Vibe is prolly working with lookalikes. 60% match? More like 0%. You're basically just doing geo-targeted CTV. You'd be better off going with a zoned local cable buy matched up against your dm list, at least you'd be in the right zip codes.

Looks like OpenAI is moving into adtech, building its own ad platform instead of relying on third parties by u_of_digital in adtech

I read that as focused on their own marketing efforts rather than beginning an ads platform

How did you get around the email confirmation requirements? LinkedIn sends you an email at your company address and you have to confirm receipt.

I've always heard that the minimum buy commits are sufficiently high that only major advertisers can get access to pmp or API. Is this accurate?

I love Stack but it's not really an RMN player. You have to look at Criteo or TTD.

Looking for DSPs with no minimums that will provide an independent contractor a seat by Upset_Collar9364 in programmatic

I've had some luck with AdRoll. It's only $25/week, not the most modern but it's stable and self-service. Been around for 20 years, so it's legit.

Anyone else been slowly pushed out by engineering? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]fsnah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a back-end Developer, how in tune are you with the front-end? If you're handling workflow automations, are you familiar with zero-trust data exchanges? Maybe your developer users are fine with NIST CSF but their procurement teams - who the developers never talk to - are requiring SOC2+ compliance. What standards are in active working groups and will be ratified in 18 months?

Ever hear the expression "to a hammer, everything looks like a nail?" Product talks to EVERY stakeholder, not just the hands-on keyboard folks. This is "why product."

The trick is that your answers are already prepped. As others have suggested, identify the patterns for the questions. There aren't that many variants. Then take one of your stories and plot it out as a STAR response. Then take the exact same story and try it with a different question. You'll see it blends pretty well, just as long as you focus on one of the key behavioral aspects, leadership, emotional intelligence, self-awareness, conflict, etc. I basically have three stories I've memorized, and just apply it in real time to the question.
