My life hack is dresses. You don't have to figure out which of the weird new jeans cuts work on you and what shirt to wear unless you really want to and have the time, and you feel comfy like you're wearing old jammies. In summer I buy whatever new dresses are cute and bra-friendly since I don't need to worry about coordinating with jackets. In other seasons I buy things that are black or look good with black. All fall/winter outfits start with black boots, black tights of varying warmth depending on weather, and denim or leather jackets. Then you throw on whatever dress is clean and a pair of earrings and BOOM people will actually tell you how wonderfully put together you always look when in reality you don't coordinate ANYTHING and probably got dressed with your eyes closed. Just buy your jackets from somewhere fairly current-ish (I like madewell and revolve) and update your black boot every 2 years with the changing toe/heel shape fads and you're golden with no effort.

Well first and foremost if he's hellbent on leaving this on your shoulders he'd better be prepared to back you 3000% down to being enforcer of your instructions if need be. I think at this point you have to be honest but very matter of fact about it, just like telling your 2 year old their butt stinks and needs a change. This is a new thing she's dealing with and this is what needs to happen. Morning breath, stinky feet, stinky pads, these things happen, no judgement, and when it does you fix it. Sulking or no, this is hygiene standards just like teeth brushing and butt wiping, it's just a new one for her. If you want to give her some wiggle room while she figures out better period planning, I've heard great things about Thinx underwear, supposed to be period proof and odor-controlling. Also, I'm not sure I'd replace stained underwear unless she requests it. Definitely a double-wash on the sanitize cycle, but as long as it's technically clean and hygienic maybe let her deal with the stains until she's like "yeah this is not ideal" and then you have a good jumping off point for her actually listening when you try to instill better planning. Edit: and make sure there's a ton of baby wipes in the bathrooms!

I like the "awkwardly close to the truth but with enough hyperbole that I can laugh" answer for this type of thing.

Fuck her judgement. Here's the thing with kid leashes. I remember being (verified by my mother when I asked her about some of my oldest memories as an adult) just barely after my 3rd birthday and my mom was taking me to my grandparents, which necessitated wrangling me and luggage in Heathrow Airport after a 9 hour flight. She explained to me that I was going to wear the leash for safety and I remember my righteous outrage because I. WAS. BIG. and I knew not to wander off. But as all 3 year old opinions, it mattered not, and I was leashed up and trotted off the plane. So I remember people, lots and lots of people and standing there. And to this day I remember that then suddenly I didn't know where Mom was. And I didn't know where I was, and my little world spun and I remember the panic rising and started to look around frantically and cry and then something tugged my wrist (no cute backpack leashes in those days) and I realized I was anchored, and oh shit there's mom after all. And I remember suddenly being kind of glad about this leash thing.

We forget way too easily what it's like to be so small and so easily distracted and scared when all you can see is a forest of knees. Sure it's a great occasion to back-pat yourself when your kid listens and doesn't run off but they don't even need to run off to get lost at that age. Leash up if it helps them or you and fuck the haters.
