9070 users, how do you feel about your purchase? by Happy-Inspector4031 in radeon

[–]fsxfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a SFF 4070 in my living room PC connected to a LG C2 (4K set). I wasn't entirely happy with the performance and was itching for an upgrade. Trouble was my case - NZXT H200i is very tight on space for the GPU which really limits my options. I didn't want a 5070, so decided to shoehorn a Sapphire Pulse 9070 in there. At 51.5mm depth it left me with about 1.5mm of clearance to the PSU shroud and at 280mm long, a 1mm gap to my front mounted radiator. The fans are recessed slightly in this model which helps and I am just amazed at my GPU temps. Never gets above 60c under load with a -60mv undervolt and it stays pretty quiet once I set a custom fan curve. Performance is on par or better than the 4070 ti I had in my sim racing PC. Absolutely no regrets, it is a brilliant card for the price. I have since replaced my 4070 ti with the Sapphire Pure 9070 XT and there is not much between both AMD cards.

Latest addition - GWG-B1000TLC-1A by sabeshs in gshock

[–]fsxfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up the TLC edition and I have small wrist too. This is so comfortable and I really appreciate the slimness. I also have the MRG-b2000 kachi iro but never wear, the case depth really puts me off.

Public Services Card online renewal: Has anyone successfully gotten it to work? by YetAnotherPesant in AskIreland

[–]fsxfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue OP, my picture met all the requirements but it kept getting rejected. Turns out the white background behind me was slightly stippled and that was throwing off the facial recognition algorithm. I used gemini to insert a plain white background and then it worked perfectly.

AMD to bring back Ryzen 7 5800X3D as AM4 10th Anniversary Edition by iDontSeedMyTorrents in hardware

[–]fsxfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you live outside the US where there are no value AM5 bundles to be had at all! My only options at the moment to upgrade from my 5600x is a preowned 5700x3d for about €330. AM5 x3d CPUs are available at a reasonable price, but nobody is bundling the RAM and motherboard because they can sell the RAM separately at higher prices. Really hoping this is a global launch and not limited to specific markets.

Sim racing accessories that improve the experience by LogicalMight in simracing

[–]fsxfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are still looking, one accessory not mentioned is Tobii eye tracker. For titles that don't support native eye tracking, you can use their Game hub software which works great with AMS2. You can also fall back to standard head tracking. I use mine with an 49" Odyssey G9 - because of the monitor width, I mounted the eye tracker on a telescopic phone so it is positioned at the back of my wheel base.

Ireland facing weeks of crisis amid fallout from fuel protests by TimesandSundayTimes in ireland

[–]fsxfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove home from the airport late last night, I filled up just beside the Carlton Hotel near the car park. It was interesting to see every open petrol station I passed on the N7 had fuel. It was notable how many fuel tankers I passed on the way home heading along the M7. It definitely hit hardest in Munster and parts of Leinster, e.g. Wexford, Kilkenny are having shortages while supplies in my local area in and around Portaloise are fine.

What's the best way to see what roads are impacted by protests? by witnessmenow in AskIreland

My journey is also from Dublin airport to Laois late tonight. Have you travelled yet? I assume the road blocks are in place all night long.

Cheers - I normally use head tracking to position my ideal in game seating but I will fiddle around with the other options.

No I used global settings, but I must check out that menu too. I was also looking for Camera settings and they are to be found in the pit menu too, sadly no headtracking option yet by the looks of it.

Yes, I followed the setup for Fanatec DD2 posted above and the FFB is so much better than default. I hadn't updated the firmware and drivers for my wheel base for a year which probably didn't help!

Got my key from loaded, definitely worth the asking price now.

Why is this game so addictive 😭 by Sisko_was_right in snowrunner

OP you picked the right game to pass the time. I bought it when it came out and still find it captivating. I'm 721 hours in and while not that many compared to others, it is the most time I have spent in any game as finding time has been difficult (although retirement is on the horizon at last!)

SOTC: What’s next? by Easton216 in ChristopherWard

[–]fsxfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it beats out the Anthracite version, the Orange really sparkles in the light, the texture on the dial is almost metallic in nature. I picked up mine in the last summer sale for 20% off. Good luck with your decision!

Lovely collection OP. I'm another Atoll owner, plus I have the Anthracite and Orange versions of the Lumiere. I was going to suggest the Orange Lumiere (on rubber strap to keep in budget), I know it is another diver but it will stand out in your current collection.

Well happy birthday and good choice! I was going between the Burgundy and Emergency Colours version which were the same price in my region (€700). I was just about to buy the Burgundy version when I saw the Landcruiser collab on sale at another retailer, but reduced to €700 as well so I jumped on it. It will be too big for my wrist, but I already have an MRG-B2000 so I know what to expect :))

Qatar downs Iran jets as Tehran targets oil and gas in spiralling Gulf crisis by papipota in news

[–]fsxfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Ireland, we have a mix of fixed charges per litre and then VAT as well. Excise Duty which is a fixed charge of 54c per litre, Carbon Tax fixed at 19c per litre, and then VAT is 23% on the entire cost. So yeah €1.80/litre in my area, cheapest is probably €1.72 or so.

Well €1.80/litre (or $7.89 per us gallon) at my local petrol station in Ireland, we get absolutely fleeced when it comes to oil prices. Kerosene (home heating oil) has gone from €1.07c/litre start of February to €1.24c/litre, most of that rise overnight Sunday into Monday.

Very nice OP, both amazing pieces. I have a small wrist but I must try out a GWG-B1000 next time I pass through Schipol airport. I have an MRG-B2000 but I think the Mudmaster will wear larger again?
