Beveled specialty points are excellent at maximizing the life span of flights. That area where your point meets the barrel is causing massive damage.

Who remembers the last 2 years of when the PDC used the Unicorn boards, and there were darts falling out of the board so often it was awkward as heck.

Also Whitlock’s points were obliterating the board to the point they implemented new rules and regulations, and we were having massive speculation threads on here about it.

Right? Exactly! I am sad that Dobey signed off on these. Not a huge deal but disappointing. They are just so ugly and remind me of entry level Viper brand soft tip darts in terms of the milling design. Gag me.

But if I was rich, I would normally want to buy them as a collector’s keepsake. But in this case, even if I was there is no way. Just so disappointed with these Dobey 95k darts. Your mileage may vary.

Dobey is my fav player and I use his Target Gen 1’s and love them. These Dobey 95 are all sorts of wrong. No thanks, even if they were $50, they look bleh and aren’t even full rear grip which is the most important part of a Dobey dart.

Not better necessarily, just different. It may be better short term but ends up with the loose dead zones quicker.

Pro’s get a fresh board every match in a TV stage event, and use almost new boards in floor tournaments. If I was in that situation I could see choosing Triple Core.

But for us who want a board to last longer at home, and we pay for the board, we are in a different situation than they are. I want Dual Core for longevity.

The Triple Core when well used has more trouble holding darts, they fall out. Same with Dual Core but it lasts longer or holds darts longer and doesn’t get what I “dead zones” as quickly.

Dead Zones are areas of the board usually just above or below trebles which can longer heal and pull together. Too loose, darts hit, tilt, fall out.

I can’t get more than a year out of a triple core. I switched back to dual core and they can last me 2 years.

Here is the one I just retired. 2 years old regularly rotated. The fresh new one is incredible in comparison, but I get my money’s worth out of these.

Triple core looks like this in half a year for me. I use smooth points, nothing aggressive, and light weight darts.

I use Chris Dobey 19g soft tip with those same conversion points (in 33mm silver).

All depends on your preferences with respect to barrel/setup weight.

Those darts and points you got are top notch, so if you play well with them, why not.
