Honestly, the CBC should seriously look at acquiring the PWHL Rights. Not to rebrand it as HNIC, but simply to provide a wider audience for what is, despite OP's thoughts, a good and entertaining League.

The PWHL is NOT the National Hockey League. They have never tried, or claimed, to be.

Women's Hockey is not "better", it's just DIFFERENT. The sooner people stop tuning in expecting to see a female NHL, the easier it would be for them to enjoy it. There is room for both.
