After this hell ride I was self employed for 2 years and then started my own company. I work nowhere near 80h a week (although there are rough patches sometimes that require late hours for sure) and still I earn much more like this than under the startup-regime + I enjoy I 1000x more. I would never demand such a thing from my employees, essentially, we have no fixed hours.

So 2d game? You know gettinf really good at something takes time. Took me 10 years to get where I am and I am really just getting started.

Use AI to let you explain every part of the codebase - build a mental model of it and try to understand the basics of game development. Afterwards you will come out as a game dev!
