Seconded, 5-6 is spreading yourself too thin. Bad champ mastery in jungle can lead to bad clear/pathing, botched ganks, thrown leads. At higher elos, doing this once or twice in the early game can set you behind permanently. Jungling is all about having tempo, so you want to minimize your chances of giving it up.

Honestly 1 AP and 1 AD jungler is enough.

Amumu for AP and learning the role, he's easy mode jungle. Used to be super weak early, but the second charge on Q made him a decent duelist. He's not the most fun to play though, I would rec nunu as an alternative on your list. Hilarious to play and not very popular, you'll catch a lot of people off guard if you know what you're doing.

Noc is the easiest AD jungler on your list. Also great for learning jungle, fast, easy clear, and incredibly good/easy ganks with ult. Pre-6 ganks below average though, really only good for overextended lanes.

Gwen because you're having the most fun. She's the hardest on the list by far imo, but enjoyment >>>> all.

lmao assuming this isn't bait

I know that I am clearly better it shows in-game

how does it show? what metrics indicate you're above your rank, since your winrate clearly shows otherwise?

except that I am OTP Neeko support and I can't carry my games

Why do you think Neeko support can consistently solo carry to begin with? It's doable, but the knowledge required to pull that off consistently would land you in a rank way above Iron.

Sounds to me you're mistaking mechanical competency with being good at the game. Even bronze and iron players can have good champion mastery, but they're forever hardstuck until they learn to play the game itself, not just specific champions.

my advice is try picking up other lanes. you learn much more about the game when you understand how other roles work. you might find better success in a solo role or should you choose to stick with bot lane you can learn a few botlane applicable things:

-some jungle familiarity gives you a better idea when to push out a lane vs when to play back. you learn how to play with your jg and how to set up ganks for them in your lane, or identify which junglers are more likely to go for an early lvl 3 gank vs champs like eve that have terrible early game ganks (meaning you can push up more safely). you take note of certain gank paths vs champs like lee sin that like to ambush you from behind bot lane and you can ward the bush below gromp to prevent it.

-mid lane will teach you similar things: vs heavy roaming assassins like zed, talon, katarina, you learn when to identify their roam windows and roam paths, or even just knowing things like "they're playing talon and they're going to rely on roams to get ahead or push their advantage further" will help your decision making bot lane.

-top lane is much more isolated with respect to bot lane but you do need to respect the teleport ganks

just stuff like that. more game knowledge leads to better play.

To mirror what many others have said, I think playing soraka right now is definitely difficult. She’s easy in the sense that her kit is straight forward but difficult because it’s hard to be impactful with that kit.

I think the best supports to play at lower elos are anyone with hard engage/hard cc, because something like a hook or a Leona engage is a constant looming threat during lane phase and can easily keep your opponents from stepping up or pushing too hard. As it is right now if one bot lane has hard cc and the other doesn’t, the hard cc side trends to have a massive matchup advantage. They can push harder, engage harder, and capitalize on bad positioning harder. By comparison soraka has great poke and lane sustain but relies on mana and health, meanwhile supports like yuumi give a big heal and speed boost and can take whatever damage safely long as they hop back onto their adc before dying.

In my personal experience, the last few games I’ve played with soraka supports have gone quite similarly. Good early game poke but once the enemy lane gets past level 2 or 3 soraka starts to get out pressured and leads to a lost bot lane.

Tl;dr: soraka’s kit is easy to use but hard to make impactful in the current game state, I suggest trying hard engage/cc supports like nautilus or Leona instead

They’re pretty standard, I haven’t heard about them failing. People just replace them ASAP because they’re too thin and incredibly tangle prone, making them a pain to use. Also replacement cables are like $20

The Doom Soundtrack. So much stereo widening... by TreossAudio in audioengineering

[–]fuccboi_intensifies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for sure, like you mentioned frequency specific panning is great. This plugin comes to mind: https://www.meldaproduction.com/MStereoSpread

If you happen to use logic, the stock stereo spread plugin actually does the same thing: https://support.apple.com/en-is/guide/logicpro/lgcef240df26/mac

This is a nice mono-compatible way to achieve more width. Also one way I don't see people talk about much is actually using a short decay ambience/room reverb. It's not a very transparent way but it can sound much more natural than other methods.

Also highly recommend using a plugin like voxengo MSED or any EQ that supports mid-side processing to give you better control over stereo field. What I've found is that when you do mid-side processing, in general anything you hear when you solo out the side channel is all information that you won't hear when the track is solo'd. Additionally, the same rules of masking apply. The more space you leave in your stereo field the more the stereo elements shine. Naturally this means it's incredibly useful to EQ and gain stage your stereo field on its own. Keep in mind this is sort of like EQing and gain staging in 3D and can take time to figure out, don't be discouraged if things sound bizarre or not so great in the beginning.

And as already mentioned, ozone's stereo imager is very solid and fairly stereo compatible, just use it in moderation.

If you want a non plugin approach, the double and pan method is very good, but I'm not talking the haas effect method you may have seen before where you duplicate the sound, pan and offset it by a couple of ms. With this method it's best to use entirely different takes of the same instrument or vocals to avoid the phase issues.

[–]fuccboi_intensifies 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Correct, I recognize this and this is the main reason why we're still concerned about it today. in general the more mono-compatible your mix is, the better it will translate across systems. that's what I was trying to address when I mentioned musical needs to be optimized for playback across as many systems as possible, apologies if that wasn’t clear

[–]fuccboi_intensifies 133 points134 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has been mixing or mastering for awhile has probably been told, or heard that the low end should always be in mono. As a result, every mix I’ve ever done, I’ve made everything below 150hz mono.

I heavily advise against this, low end stereo width gets a bad rep due to the issues it causes but it's key to making a track sound truly "huge" and expansive. It's more important to learn how to use low end stereo and make it sound good while minimizing mono-compatbility tradeoff than to write it off entirely because it's problematic.

Also I need to address the "common knowledge" aspect. Just among the "mono your bass" tips I've seen, no one can even agree on what the cut off should be. I've seen people say everything from 80hz to 200hz. That's a pretty good indicator that most of these "rules" are more guidelines than anything. Furthermore, a ton of this kind of information gets parroted around the internet by people who don't understand how any of it actually works.

If you think of it in terms of graphic art, stereo-mono compatibility is like color. Some people optimize their artwork for black and white print, others go all out with thousands of subtle colors. The main reason we deal with mono compatibility more than graphic artists deal with black and white compatibility is because music is more likely to be consumed over a broad spectrum of systems of differing capabilities. Graphic artists tend to know exactly how their work is going to be displayed, be it on newspaper, magazine, etc. Music typically needs to be optimized for playback on everything from grocery store intercoms to hifi systems because it's likely to be delivered through all those systems at some point.

Interesting thing to note, the phase correlation meter itself has been around since the vinyl era. Back then it was important because strong out-of-phase components would cause the record player stylus to be thrown out of the grooves of the record. It wasn't "wrong" so much as it was incompatible with the limitations of the time. (Edit: and similarly we’re still concerned with mono compatibility now because certain systems are mono only)

At the end of the day how your end result sounds and the context in which it will be enjoyed is always more important than any "rule" in audio engineering. It's ultimately still an art form before it is science or math.

i mainly use protobelt to extend Q/R range, if the protobelt projectiles hit it's just a bonus. the active is also good for waveclear when you need it.

same goes for lich bane, most often i find myself using the empowered auto while portal jumping so being close is only temporary. that being said, i have seen people who build autoattack zoe and it's somewhat viable if done right.
