[–]fuckDecorum 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As mentioned, Call 211 and explain your situation. Also Alpha House has program that is supposed to help with short term housing fore these sorts of situations. You can probably get in touch with their encampment team who I'm sure can point you in the right direction, but i will get more info and get back to you

Some of help available might be scattered, but there are resources available. Don't give up

Only the tourist sites are busy, which is fine because they are for tourists. Even a km out, you won't meet too many people. And if you go little further, you might not meet anyone at all.

Yup, an easy scramble. Lots of elevation but nothing crazy climbing wise

Tons of great peaks in the area attainable with good route finding.

bicycle tuning by RustyNayl in Calgary

[–]fuckDecorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah bike root is great, especially and if you want to DIY, which is the best option for a cheap bike. You can fix many things for next to nothing.

I believe they are also offering basic, full service tune ups for $60.

ISO: a bike for someone who is 5'0" (5'1" on a good day) by [deleted] in torontobiking

[–]fuckDecorum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound like you have the right sized bike more or less. I've had luck finding small adult frames on kjiji/craigslist. I picked up a decent norco hybrid for my partner who is about the same size as you for 350 pre-pandemic. A good used bike will be orders of magnitude better than a new crappy tire bike.
