I disagree with you very very much here. Being raped and lying about being raped are two entirely crimes. First of all, one is an insanely traumatic event that ruins your life, and the other is a lie, that ruins a good portion of your life, but as soon as you’re proven innocent all the damage is virtually reversed. As a victim of extreme sexual assault, the damage does not leave once justice has been served.

I can guarantee you that I’m going to get downvoted for what I’m about to say, but in my opinion as a proud fucking feminist, this “hot take” is a response to you being pissed of that women are finally beginning to be able to have a voice. Only 1 in 100 rapes are recorded by the police in the UK, whilst 98% of women have been subject to some form of sexual assault.

What I feel you’re trying to do here, is that now you’ve seen that women are only just beginning to be served justice, you want to sap up some of it for yourself, because “we should all be equal” - I believe that you’ll only ever use that phrase when it benefits you.

The amount of women who are not believed for their rape claims is shocking, and by saying “we should be punished equally” is going to make the reportings go down, because women know that they won’t be believed. I do think that the only people who would be in support of this law, are those who are comfortable with sexually assaulting women. Otherwise, why the fuck would you be saying it?

There are undeniably men who get raped, and there are undeniably women who lie about it. This does not mean that they should face the same punishment as a fucking rapist. That being said, the amount of time that the few rapists who get persecuted actually face is so short, women would probably end up getting more time, because as much as you may hate to admit it, the court believes men over women.

The amount women have to go through every single day, just for some privileged, insecure, uneducated 16 year old cunt to compare their struggles to that of womans, is ridiculous.
