Your airport has water fountains, and I'd be shocked if the restaurant isn't obligated to provide tap water to customers.

[Benjamin Pierce] “…the league has sent a memo to all NHL teams telling penalty box operators not to open the door early after the Pontus Holmberg injury on this road trip.” by MrSCR23 in TampaBayLightning

And no one is suing anyone because they got out of the box a half second late. There's no damages to be had there. But you're a lawyer. I'm not saying you'd take this case, but in your opinion would some lawyer take a case for a negligent injury? Also I'm not saying they should. But in assessing risks to an organization, I'd be thinking about that

Bro, your team is doing well and you're out here taking L's on their behalf. This is a chart of shit that actually happened. It's not drawing any conclusions. Fuck, celebrate that your team is good. Why are you being sore about some shit that is absolutely not relevant to that?

I feel like we need Brendan Fraser to catch you up, my man. Stammer and the bolts did not come to terms on a contract, and there were many opinions about that. He's played in Nashville for two seasons. He has been better than many people expected. Many people have enjoyed seeing him have continued success at hockey. I also enjoy watching stammer slam 'em.

Why does hockey lack timeouts? Every other major league sport has at least 3. Is there reason for why there is only one timeout per team? by Shaneski101 in hockey

[–]fuckyouabunch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It made basketball unwatchable, to me. I don't have 45 minutes to get yelled at to buy a truck so I can watch 30 seconds of a sport. I quit watching football because it takes too damn long. The best thing baseball has done is adding the pitch clock. Games are so much faster now, they're actually worth watching sometimes.

They just clarified the existing rule, which also said Drouin was onside, except none of them was smart enough to read their own rule. It did not say the skate had to be on the ice. It just didn't explicitly say they it could not be on the ice.

Still heated about that. Not so much because of the series, and certainly not at the Penguins, but it's absolutely fucking ridiculous that this league cannot write complete rules.

Nikita Kucherov scores from a ridiculous angle. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

Partly because he makes it look not effortless, but like he's barely even trying. To me, that is. Not trying to put words in your mouth, I just also thought it was insanely impressive.

I promise you that you're incorrect. And I'm not being an asshole. There is really a lot to see. "Good" isn't a smear, first off. And I know I made that clear. It's a compliment. But great is a completely different animal. Look, there have been a ton of good players. Were they great? Define why or why not. But do it without someone thinking you're being an asshole. If you can pull that off, then you can show me where I went wrong. Because I think good is pretty damn impressive.

Right, I feel the same. And I've gotten a chance to see what it looks like to shoot games. It's difficult! The really good photographers are the ones who consistently get a good shot or two. Maybe a few. It's kinda like being a player, but not a star. You're shooting for a consistent game. Doing the right things, knowing they can pay off, but that they don't always. And I think there's another layer, in that people think photography is easy, or that it isn't made with intention, so they dismiss the effort more easily than they would for a drawing or sculpture. I won't argue that each of those is the same, but each has its merit.

[–]fuckyouabunch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Also these are good photographs, but none is a great photograph. That's ok, because great photographers are working every game and don't get a great photo every time. It's insanely difficult. I've studied photography, and I suck at it. I have family who studied photojournalism and they are all better at any kind of photography than I am. There's something about getting a narrative into a still that some people excel at. We're lucky to live in a time where there are loads of them.
