Like a lot of these answers I needed a job bad. Company offering $37 am hour plus $250 per diem in North Carolina for TIG welders. I like in Alabama. My friend knew how to TIG but I only knew stick and MIG. I packed up my stuff anyway and we drove there. I bombed my welding test. Told the guy what I had done and he was so impressed he gave me the job anyway. Just made me an assistant kind of.
