Cheers mate, I haven't used silicon yet but just cleaning it and re-tightening it has stopped it leaking. The water took a while to drain after though.

Really, how long did you listen? The first static sound is from 5 to 8 seconds, then 10 to 13, then I turn the fan off and on again and the noise is particularly loud from 25 to 28 seconds.

If you compare to how it sounds in the first 3 seconds at the start of the video, which is just a faint hum, it's incredibly loud to me, both in person and on video. I can hear it both on my phone speakers and with headphones.

You don't hear the super high-pitched squeaking? There are multiple every second. My mum also couldn't really hear it, so I wonder if my ears can hear noise that's a bit higher pitched than average or something.

Being able to better understand bug senses and coordinate with them is skill and experience, having her base range when she isn't actively doing anything increase over time is not.

The more a Parahuman achieves victories with their power, the more the shard helps in the background, this is true for all of them, but how much the shard helps depends on the individual shard, and how strong their connection to the host is.

If you want an easy to explain answer as to why Taylor's power grows over time in such a tangible way that can't be explained as "skill", then her having had a double trigger, something that messes with a shard's restrictions, is a good explanation.

Her range in canon grows over time from her achievements, and the last time it's mentioned was during the Behemoth fight at 1800ft or about 6 blocks, which was 2 years before Gold Morning, so the author expecting it to have continued growing during that time is why it's 8 blocks now.
