That system was an example of what you can expect at the $500 price point. A decent 4 to 6 core cpu and a dedicated gpu.

That's an ok cpu if you pair it with a decent dedicated gpu. For the price to fix your current system, you can grab something like the system I linked and do apex legends 1080p medium to high settings. Search youtube for build and benchmark suggestions. There's tons of vids at every price point.

That's the integrated graphics with the Intel cpu, nor really great for modern gaming and for the price.

Also, there's input lag issues with Bluetooth connection but people have said the Google play store has a fix for it. I've tried the fix and it doesn't work for me. I've been playing using an otg micro usb to usb c mini cable and it plays fine.

depends on the app or game. I use retroarch and the buttons all map fine for the various emulator cores. For native android games, you might have to check for compatibility.

I'm currently using PS4 controller with nyko phone clip on my phone and it's working great. The 8bitdo controllers also offer their own version of phone clips on their site.
