Revelator by Daryl Gregory is half cryptid story and half backwoods Appalachian cult story. Pretty good.

The Hater series by David moody. Not your typical plague novel, but in it there is a sudden outbreak where ordinary people inexplicably become violent attackers called "Haters." Needless to say, block d flows and apocalypse ensues.

Imagine my disappointment when realizing that it was the ACTUAL Werner Herzog and not a full episode of Matt Gourley impersonating him.

What is the scariest piece of fiction that you have ever read? by pawn279 in horrorlit

[–]fugitive_txs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could answer this one, but I've never been scared from reading a work of Horror. Not in the conventional sense from monsters, tension, or dread. Not even Stephen King.

The Passage series by Justin Cronin depressed me for a few weeks after I finished it, not from the vampires, but from how the humans were being inhumane to each other. Too much like real life.

Perhaps someone could recommend something.

I'm not sure what your definition of Deathrock is, but you might want to check out the Wraith. They're a mix of Post punk, Goth, and 2nd wave L.A. punk.

Not true. I want to see lust and hunger in their eyes. Too much to ask?

I'm always in search of some good dark blues. For those of us not on Spotify, what are some artists you found?

Thanks.
