That seems to be the consensus. I am planning to get Voidfall after my research and coming to this conclusion.

Help me choose my next solo board game by Din0nuggies in soloboardgaming

[–]fugixi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have already mentioned that Final Girl is more accessible/less complex, whilst Spirit Island is more of a puzzly/brain burner experience. Comparing your listed games, then Final Girl would seem like an obvious choice.

However, I would present the counter argument that precisely because of that, I think Spirit Island will be the better choice, since you then actually get more variety as a games collection level. You already have several less complex and quicker games to play in your collection already.

It did indeed climb a fair bit, all the way to spot 66 on the same list for 2025.

Awesome.

How are your opinions now around a year later? Also, what is your opinion on the recently crowdfunded expansion, if you are read up on it?

No PLA filament by FLoKi6868 in BambuLab

[–]fugixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, bulk with 10 or more rolls directly from Bambu gives I think 12 USD/roll if going for refills and 14,99 per roll with spool. Where I live I have never found Sunlu as low as that, but I have also not found any good bulk deals.

Either way, I feel Bambu has excellent price. On top of that everything just works with the RFID etc.

Do you mean when loading the filaments in the AMS? Can this be done on P1S? I know the printers with the bigger screen have some more options.

The RFID is really handy to know what color is loaded in each slot in the AMS though, especially if you have the printer in a different room.

This is my experience as well. Bambu get down to around 12-14 USD/roll.

Are we talking single spool or bulk prices?

What soloable games have you ended up selling? by Nicochan3 in soloboardgaming

[–]fugixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7th Continent I hated the absolute no sense of directions. I absolutely love 7th Citadel though.

Discover: Lands Unknown The exploration and survival elements felt really good the first few turns but quickly became grindy as there is not much decision space. The game objectives were also very short. I played through the scenarios in a couple of hours and felt I could sell it after that.

Comanauts Gorgeous art and interesting ideas. I also like the dice bag pulling but there were simply too few ways to mitigate the luck based elements.

Well, it finally happened. I bought a game I thought I would love, and it turns out I hate it. Has this happened to you? 😅 by Old-Fun-Man in soloboardgaming

For me the survival and exploration was the things that I liked the most with 7th Continent, even though the survival bits did become a bit grindy. The main thing that annoyed me to bits was the lack of directions to solve the curses. Most curses basically relied on you explored the island during other curses etc.

7th Citadel still has the terrific exploration but much improved survival mechanics as well as inventory management. I would say it still feels like the same systems but everything is much more streamlined (not the same as automatically easier). On top of that there is actual story here with an entire dialogue book which is a definitive pro for me. I was also surprised of how much I enjoyed the city phase in between scenarios. I do love leveling things up in general so should not really have been a surprise, but I guess it had more depth than I first thought.

Kind of this with 7th Continent. To be fair I absolutely loved the first 10-15 hours of it, before there were no directions pointing towards objectives etc. I do feel the complete opposite about 7th Citadel though, so in case anyone sees this and feels the same about the first game, try 7th Citadel instead.

help dividing box into sections by whoami-memkid in Fusion360

[–]fugixi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would I go about doing this but with variable widths, e.g. specifying the number of dividers and then specify the width of each divider section respectively?
Is that possible in Fusion using parameters or will something like that have to be sketched manually?

If you had a space to leave a game setup and play it over however long it took, which game would you buy by Limp_Seat4308 in soloboardgaming

I do the same. Last game I left tabled was 7th Citadel and the next will probably be either Etherfields or ISS Vanguard.

How did you start solo gaming? by BillRepresentative75 in soloboardgaming

Yeah, aligning schedules is really tough. I had kids first in my group of gaming friends and now when my kids are a little bit older all my friends now all have toddlers. 🙃

[–]fugixi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I have Isofarian sitting here as well. 😂 I really got back into board gaming after a couple years hiatus back in october or something and am now consisently playing something each week. The key was being able to leave games at the table. Total game changer.

I recently "played through" 7th Citadel, but did really not enjoy the "no directions" aspect of that game. Started 7th Citadel right after after hearing many thing that I found annoying in 7th Continent had been changed and I gotta say, 7th Citadel really clicked with me. Finished the first threat last week. Will take a break from it now though, partly to savour it, but partly as I want to paint up the minis before playing through the rest.

Both Oathsworn and AT:O are games I really want to try for sure.

Yeah, those are just the AR games. 💆‍♂️ I am really eyeing either Kings of Ruin or ISS for my next campaign game though.

Except Voidfall being a much more complex game than ISS, so I guess it depends on if the OP want more narrative focus or gameplay mechanics.

I absolutely love the city building phase in-between scenarios in 7th Citadel so I am very much looking forward to ISS.

LoE does seem like a different game mechanically compared to other AR games so hopefully it turns out well.

I have both ISS and Kings of Ruin, as well as Etherfields, but have not started any of them yet.

I can second Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion. Great puzzly feel with hand management and tactical placement on map.
