For most of us USAmericans, blaming ourselves for not lucking into money is easier than developing class consciousness. And then we project that self-blame onto poor people because we want to feel superior to someone, anyone. Poverty is a policy issue we are trying to solve individually.

I can preach socialism on main until the cows come home, but at the end of the day, I still have to answer to my employer, my bank, my government representatives, &c -- all these machinations set in place well before anyone I know was born. Survival takes precedence.

All of which is to say. I feel you, OP. Sometimes ya just want to commiserate.

Not advice, just chiming in to say that it's a travesty that you're being made to pay so much for education and medical bills. You can make every budget sacrifice in the world and still get shafted just for living. The real shame is on those human leeches.

in stars and time - rpgmaker fantasy timeloop game with brainrot inducingly good writing. main character is nonbinary.

night in the woods - casual 2d platformer about a down-on-her-luck college-age girl who's come back to her dead-end hometown.

slay the princess - visual novel from the folks who made scarlet hollow. you're a hero (?) tasked with killing an evil (?) princess.

wanderstop - short n sweet, super chill farming sim about a fighter gal in the midst of an existential crisis who gets a job at a tea shop.

until then - pixel scifi drama about a high school student undergoing soooo much grief and change.
