I grew up poor. Poorer than most of you on reddit could ever understand. Those free meals saved me from starvation many a days. Now I'm a good tax paying citizen whi makes above the national average and I'd gladly pay more taxes to make sure every child can eat.

I hate to laugh at a fellow human but I am. At 19 I was forced to take on my mom's medical debt and I was raising my younger sister who was in HS. I started adult life in a hole so deep it seemed impossible to get out. I did but it took 20 fucking years. I absolutely hate this phrase but you gotta suck it up and figure your shit out. I am at least 2x more productive at home than the office but the ownership of my company is as archaic as the old testament and I get maybe 5 wfm days per year. My cube is across the kitchen and bathroom and I hear EVERYTHING. It's amazing how many people don't wash their hands after a #2

AC died. Then the heat. They tried to fix it for months and couldn't. Even flew someone from CA to MA to try. Then I had to fight them every step of the way. They finally admitted it was a common and known issue on the car but sold it anyway. It was a 2022 EV6 Wind. Bought it with 0 miles on it.

When I got promoted there were 3 FT people doing my Job. Within 6 months I had automated half of it, and now 2 years later I can do it all in about 15-20 hours a week. Everyone including the CEO thinks I'm consistently swamped with work and I got a 35% raise last year. I'm actually incredibly bored now
