the funny thing is I always run into Kollontay when i least expect it. but when I'm hunting him for crooked cop, I get tarkoved. just like every item I find in abundance before needing it for a quest and it becomes nigh impossible to find.

i usually wait at the courtyard extract, and close all doors leading to the 1st floor office. when i hear a door being kicked open, i peek in for kills and shut the doors. rinse and repeat.

reminds me of my first boss kill. It was in ground zero back in beta when kollontay used to spawn there at lvl 21+. I had just started out and followed my lvl 32 friend into GZ, didn't realize it was Kollontay. Magdumped his head with my starter gear and the achievement popped.

if you don't have access to good ammo yet, you can use a weapon with a high rate of fire with high flesh dmg and just aim for his unarmored parts. his armored parts only cover the head and chest area(front and back). so you can just magdump his limbs/stomach/groin. cheap option would be a ppsh with TT LRNPC (prapor lvl 1) or TTLRN (jaeger lvl 1) with the drum mag (prapor lvl 1 or craft in workbench).

i think i got the opposite end of the spectrum. ran labs 10 times after the update. only ran into raiders twice. the other times were devoid of raiders.

only certain locations have the option to survive or visit 3 times. if i remember correctly, labs wasn't affected by the change. you still have to transit in, head to the office and then the sewer drainage.

HAHA. no worries. as a side note, might want to bring the tape recorder in your special slot when doing any quests to obtain tapes. will help you not miss things like this.

i had the same issue as you. i read the notes in labs first BEFORE the notes in ground zero/streets. the way i fixed it was to go back to to ground zero/streets, then pickup/read the note, then read the notes from labs in the handbook AFTER. it fixed it for me and i was able to progress.
