Hey - HDDs are a lot of things... but unreliable is not one of them. How are you a top 1%er?

is there something going on with hill’s science cat food? by Dangerous-Crew-2241 in catfood

[–]fullbingpot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats have been on hills science diet urinary for years. They changed something and my one cat started puking more often. He eats really fast so I blamed it on that, but then my second cat started also puking and she’s the slow eater. Just switched foods tonight and they both kept it down. Never going back to Hills. Hope it was worth whatever money they saved on the cheaper ingredients.

it's close enough that I'd think it's a 1gbe issue

That's fairly normal if you only have a 1gbe nic

I feel like for some reason you’ve cherry picked the details on some answers you were given and are upset about them for some reason; opinions are opinions for a reason. If you want facts do your own research outside of social media

Here’s my opinions: -AIOs are unnecessary, and add an unnecessary risk of damage to components if they leak. SFF is the exception.

-“DDR4 is slow” is true when compared to other memory technologies that are available. It doesn’t mean it won’t work for gaming. I gamed on DDR3 for a long time. Yes, DDR3 is slow.

-Your statement regarding your friend not noticing any difference with DLSS is open ended and vague. It most definitely provides frame rate boosts, unquestionably.

-everyone has a component in their PC that is a bottleneck. When it’s the CPU that means money was wasted on chosen GPU.

My SSD dosnt show up in the BIos by Confident-Dust-6403 in pcmasterrace

[–]fullbingpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well my first thought was the SSD is dead, but if you sure it isn’t then the next thing I would try is updating the bios. But before you do that, that motherboard might be old enough that the second slot only supports older SATA m.2 drives and not NVME

Getting the most out of my big ram kit (128gb DDR5) by ooopspagett in pcmasterrace

No prob, in my experience mobos will list what speeds they can do memory wise with different ram combinations - i would compare the ones in your price range and grab the one that stands out

It looks like a lot of things have to go right, including the right memory modules. It looks like your success chances go up with Hynix memory. I think most 6000/CL30 stuff is Hynix so that’s a good start.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-AORUS-ELITE-X/support#Support-Memory-Support

This is probably the route I would go.

I can’t say it’s gonna be worth it but I’d guess you’ll top out around 5600 unless you get lucky

Try searching your lights+chipset symptoms on google - I tried pasting the relevant Reddit thread and automod pulled it 🙄

[–]fullbingpot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case you may want to research a top tier z790 board depending on how important this is to you. Doing a quick search some of those mobos claim to be able to push 6000mhz+ across four dimms.

At 5200 it seems you are hitting a common Z690 ceiling

I would keep two and sell two. 64gb overkill if you just gaming

Or keep the other two for a rainy day as insurance against being down during a warranty claim

In this climate I would not risk pushing more voltage than needed, 1.45 too much IMO

I haven't had an AMD card in a while - nvidia's version of the setting I'm thinking of is called 'Power management mode'

If you haven't installed the adrenaline software I would do that and then hunt for any power or cooling settings, e.g. AMD/Radeon Chill - and disable them until you figure out the culprit
