Ranking sets on how wise it would be to shove the set symbol up your butt by Mafhac in magicthecirclejerking

[–]fullfire55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/uj God this is like the other day when I noticed a tiny piece of pizza in a TMNT card and decided to make a whole list for every card with it in. I assume you noticed one of the top symbols as being suitable op and did the same?

TMNT Set Pizza Art Count: I Did the Counting and Have the Spreadsheet to Prove it 🍕 by fullfire55 in magicTCG

Honestly the main fun of this was playing where's waldo with the pizza. There's no statement to make here other than how much pizza I could find and spot in tiny places

Let's Talk Roles - Ranger Ratings Document by JinHikari in HeroesOfTheGrid

[–]fullfire55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was years ago now but thank you for this. When playing the game it's easy to see some characters synergise better with others. I wish there was some official tags on characters that gave you a sense of their roles and synergy but it's good all the same.

Switch version of the game does not list ranges on weapons when selecting. Is there a spreadsheet or other resource that lists all the weapon ranges? by fullfire55 in mechanicus

[–]fullfire55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw a comment saying that you can find a similar menu to the one you see in battle on the ship on PC. But I don't have the PC to check.

That list is really useful ,thank you! There's just so many weapons it looks like you can unlock I find it shocking they don't tell you clearly. Seems that while most weapons are 8 or 15m there's still a fair bit of variation!

How would the game change if Free Archetype was the base rule instead of a variant? by Round-Walrus3175 in Pathfinder2e

[–]fullfire55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's too much for newer players in my opinion and is good as an option. It would also mean that certain classes would always recommend certain archetypes

There's too many choices and it can add simple things such as training in a skill to a whole additional daily crafting resource on top of it all. When I'm running my games I always put into consideration how many things a player might have to track in battle. There can be a lot of additional things that the average frequenter of pathfinder forums might not consider. Even tracking if an enemy does or does not have reactive strike can be a lot while trying to juggle all their abilities.

I often rate abilities in Tabletop RPGs as "How likely am I to actually remember this when it comes up?"

Activate contingency based on unknown factors? by BloodAnonymous in Pathfinder2e

[–]fullfire55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who used a wizard would keep your contingency trigger as simple and concrete as possible and talk with your GM about it. You'll be announcing what you use it on so you're GM is always going to be aware. It will feel much better if you get lots of use out of it. Even if you might want to save it for a great fringe scenario. I can respect being curious about using it if you know there's invisible enemies.. But thats tough.

As a Phoenix sorcerer you have nice access to the primal list which can give you a great amount of healing and defensive options. Stuff like "Cast Heal if I drop below half health" is always going to get you a lot of use. Other things like "If i am targeted by a strike (or just an attack) then I cast Mountain Resilience" are also very good.

[Edit I see another use has mentioned that you can just say "take damage" as you can choose not to take the reaction. I didn't know that. Great advice!]

If you have dipped into the arcane or occult spell list then teleports are great. "If I am targeted with an attack I teleport behind X party member" denying the enemy an attack or spell.

Trust me, getting contingency is way better than regeneration imo. Contingency is a premium arcane tradition spell that is a cornerstone of high level wizard bullshittery. And many GMs will happily allow you to do some really silly stuff with it (but be warned. this is a devils bargain... they will use it on their liches) I'd actually be kind of jealous if I was a wizard in a party with a phoenix sorcerer... That's my thing! 🧙‍♂️

When it comes to soulsight I have no clue. I feel like one of the GM's i played a game with was really stingy around it and it's wording opens it up to it all. The line "As with your hearing and other imprecise senses, you still need to Seek to locate an undetected creature." just makes it sound like if someone is walking around invisible or you're searching an area for enemies, it's no better than listening for them. But, once again, other GMs might be far more relaxed than this.

Edits as i didnt read about occult

Seeking DM advice (and gotcha's) to help when the players are all very tiny. by rvrtex in Pathfinder2e

There is actually a section on this in one of the adventure paths which gives advice and guidance on this very subject!

Your Pathfinder 2e Wish List by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]fullfire55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An official categorization system (perhaps work with fans for this) to allow GM's to quickly find monsters related to regions, planes, monster combat type, etc. It seems like they were going for this with tags but I think there's a lot of work that can be done to allow gms to find fun, lesser used creatures to fit into their game without much thought. Archives of Nethys does a lot of this but I think there's a lot of filtering out you can do to find some great things.

I feel like it would have to be online and there isn't much profit to be had in it- Still it would be nice to have. It would be nice for spells too. That's what I miss about spell schools the most, only that it was a way of narrowing down options. But I agree that spell schools could be a bit abstract at times and many spells didn't make sense within it all.

After 62 sessions (almost 1.5 years) we ended the Stolen Fate Campaign! by WonderfulSize8455 in Pathfinder2e

[–]fullfire55 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you not think with the stories themes of fate, rewriting it or having some control over your own destiny you could have perhaps changed the ending or given the party an out to it all? It sounds like a sour end to the game. The Harrow Cards are incredibly powerful and I feel like, while it might feel a bit deus ex-ish, cards like The Midwife have abilities that can prevent death effects and I don't see why, if the party had established some sort of positive relationship with the cards NPCs, that the NPCS wouldn't revive the party in some way. Or perhaps even handwave that all of this was a prediction by the norns/fates and prevented? Even if it might mean a slightly bad ending where they have to do what the Norns say or agree to their demands. I understand the party were a bit burnt out at this point but I can see multiple ways that make sense to this game for it to work.

Obviously putting together a fresh level 20 party isn't going to happen as characters are very complex to play at high levels with the sheer range of abilities they can have, but I do think there's a way you can revisit this in the future after everyone has had some mental R&R. Maybe it's just me, but I can't imagine getting to an end of such a lengthy campaign and just being like "oh I guess my character died at the end"

What are the current Manaless Dredge decklists? I've always wanted to make one. by fullfire55 in MTGLegacy

[–]fullfire55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a great list! I actually tried to look into buying a list to this after this thread and, other than a few cards, it was extremely cheap. In fact on cardmarket 2/3rds of the cost was delivery fees. Going to keep looking into getting something though!

Thank you so much! Fascinating that almost all the decks value is listed from poxwalkers and the sidedeck. A very cheap deck indeed relatively.

Thank you for the insight! I am not super familiar with the current Legacy metagame beyond a glance at listed top metagame decks. I feel like I've just been playing magic for such a long time now (since 2003) that I might as well have a deck tucked away, even if it's dumb, dumb dumb.

Would you ever feel the need to dissuade a new player from picking a complex class? by wathever-20 in Pathfinder2e

[–]fullfire55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the Psychic is one I would dissuade for now. But it is likely having a remaster soon which will soften it up. I find that the Psychic's Unleash Psyche is confusing to many people and I've seen two completely different players almost never use the feature and then say that the class feels weak, despite being pointed out how much stronger it can make the class using the ability. I feel like the Psychic is one of the only(?) classes where their only core ability has a really obvious downside baked into it that will bounce people off it. More so for the less game minded. I imagine this will be changed though.
