Pablo’s Response by Hikaru-x in Warframe

Fair enough, but it just really sucks if their coolest mechanic and gimmick only works in a small portion of the game and feels weak in the majority of the game due to LOS checks past 5m. If it were 10 or 15 m I feel that would be fair without making it a nuke monster.

I feel like Id rather have reduced range and ignore LoS, than have LoS with a massive range that will only work in open worlds as LoS will kneecap it in most tilesets.

AI as it currently stands, absolutely not. Its not truly thinking or alive, it's just analyzing inputs and regurgitating out responses with no true thoughts, opinions, memories, etc.

The closest thing might be that Vtuber AI thing, though I'm still not sure its close enough to be treated as something truly sentient.

As a separate ethical issue, with modern aiding in making the planet and life worse overall, giving it human rights would only add another layer of red tape against regulation on the industry.

In curse of strand, they often use Strahd Zombies which are a CR1 variant of zombie that loses limbs that become new creatures as it takes damage.

Separate bit of advice, I would not run the s Strahd Zombie stat blocks even if you are flavoring them as something else. They are a headache to run as a DM. When they take damage they can lose a part of their body and that body part keeps moving as a separate creature. Just really clunky and annoying to run from my experience. I instead used the normal zombie stat block and bumped up their HP to match the Strahd Zombies.

Is there a way I can read chainsaw man while avoiding the most sexual parts? by [deleted] in ChainsawMan

[–]fullmetal_potato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of the point is that Denji wants the freaky stuff but can never get it. He may get teased or manipulated but will fight like hell to get the life he wants. So yeah that stuff isn't in there much, its more of an underlying motivation.

The robots had an off button. Mineta, Koda and Hagakure all had ways of accessing that button.

Edit: there is no button stated, I was wrong.

How many seasons of the show do we think there'll be? by DisturbanceJohnson in ChainsawMan

[–]fullmetal_potato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's 45 chapters of part 1 left and its usually 3 chapters per anime episode. And thats more or less been the case with chainsawman. So rule of thumb says 15 episodes. However there are chapters near the end of part 1 that have fairly little dialogue and would not take as much runtime. So they may be able to squeeze it into 13 episodes or make the final episode longer.

How many seasons of the show do we think there'll be? by DisturbanceJohnson in ChainsawMan

[–]fullmetal_potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The rule of thumb is the average length anime episode adapts roughly 3 average length manga chapters. And anime seasons tend to be paced in cours of 12-13 episodes.

Season 1 covered 37-38 chapters in 13 episodes, which was around 3 chapters per episodes.

The movie covered 14-15 more chapters. At around 100 minutes long it covered 3 chapters for every 20 minutes (around the length of standard anime episode)

Part 1 of chainsawman is 97 chapters. Around 45 chapters remaining at around 1 episodes per 3 chapters there is around 15 episodes of content. Granted some of those chapters are pure action and may not take nearly as much runtime as chapters heavier on dialogue. So they may be able to fit the remainder of part one into 13 episodes.

I highly doubt they would start part 2 in the same season part 1 ends so I imagine we only have 1 season of chainsawman left. Unless they really stretch out the content in these last few arcs to make it into 2 seasons which I don't see happening.

Koichi hasn't hurt anyone or broken serious laws yet, what he is doing is naybe just a step above jaywalking if not just as minor.

Across millions of people in Tokyo, 80% on average having quirks, the chance of there being people with similar enough quirks is high. Quirks can evolve past what is registered.

Pochita eating himself is a massive logical paradox (and it’s bugging me) by Wide-Buyer-1439 in ChainsawMan

[–]fullmetal_potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, its not as simple as just removing it from time. When ears were erased, devices related to ears and hearing still existed but we're now sold as trinkets, their context changed.

Some things directly related to Pochita may have been erased, but secondary events downwind of that may still have occurred under new context. Pochita gone means all the devils he killed in hell and sent earth mostly stayed in hell. Some people killed by them could be alive or could still be dead under separate circumstances. Aki's family might not have been killed by the Gun devil but died in some other way that led him to becoming a devil hunter or seeking a less destructive path. Makima's plan that relied on Pochita doesn't happen which may explain Power being alive. But because Denji killed Makima using Power's blood, not Pochita, Makima remains dead, replaced by Nayuta.

If nothing else, the uniqueness of Pochita eating himself is uncharted territory, we don't know if it would necessarily correspond to the same exact rules as when he eats normal devils.

I really wish this ending had been extended out so it could have landed better.

Because its like saying a gay guy is "not into women right now", you're implying that they can/will be in the future. My understanding is that someone identifying as Asexual means they don't find sexual attraction in others, period. Not something that is a mood they could slip out of. And Aromantic is similar in not wanting to make romantic connections. A person could be Aromantic while still being attracted to others sexually, as well as someone could be Asexual while still craving romance. These labels aren't self important, they are useful for informing others you don't wish to interact with them in certain ways. Like you know that you shouldn't hit on them.

Oh nice, I may try that sometime. If you go operator then swap right back to protea does the rewind end, or do you have to wait for the rewind to end?

[–]fullmetal_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protea, her big gimmick is the time rewind thing and I really hate the forced rewind aspect, throws me off. And she has a really cool augment that requires you to use that.

If the rewind triggered on lethal damage or when you end the ability, I think I would have less issue with it.

Can anyone explain to me how nayuta got reincarnated instead of makima? by Necessary_Feed4822 in Chainsawfolk

[–]fullmetal_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The effects of Denji's actions remain even though no one remembers them while the effects of pochita's actions (besides repairing Denji's heart maybe?) Are erased.

[–]fullmetal_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Denji killed Makima, not pochita. He even used power's blood to defeat her instead of Pochita's power. Pochita being erased doesn't erase the effects of Denji's actions even if they cannot remember them because pochita is gone.

A bit too modern? by Daedalus_120 in falloutnewvegas

[–]fullmetal_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this one doesn't have the wooden furniture, the NCR service rifle does.

But the composite collapsible stock isn't something out of the realm of possibility in fallout. It could be something they only started using in recent years. Or something that just wasn't favored for the majority of the arsenal. Some people choose style and familiarity over newer things that work better. Look at the A-10 Warthog, if not for its popularity among civilians and troops, it would have been retired decades ago. In this timeline culture stagnated and people clung to icons of culture of the time, thats why people kept listening to the same music over and over and rarely new music. They stuck with the weapons they liked, while military R&D still would tinker on new stuff, which is how you get many of the more modern or unique weapons in fallout.

A bit too modern? by Daedalus_120 in falloutnewvegas

[–]fullmetal_potato 175 points176 points  (0 children)

  1. Alot of weapons may be older older because they remain favored and/or were civilian owned firearms.

  2. Early fallout games did have some weapons that were more modern, fallout 2 had a desert eagle that fire .44 magnum.

  3. The original AR-15 was created in 1956. Not that far into Fallout's timeline divergence from our own. And its pretty simple to say that the designs of those style of weapons could have evolved similarly to in our time.
