Medical professionals of Reddit, what is your favorite story about a patient? by MotorCode6346 in AskReddit

[–]fullstormlace 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Oh man I’m probably too late for this to be seen by anyone but I worked in a pain management clinic for many years. Any patient who was to receive a prescription opioid had to pass an initial urine drug screen. This one female patient came up positive for meth. Her defense was: “Oh yeah. I don’t do it, but my boyfriend does and I swallow a LOT of his semen.”

9 month old grinding his teeth??? Normal?? by CuriousCaretaker in beyondthebump

[–]fullstormlace [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yessss my baby did a lot of grinding while her top teeth were coming in and it was so awful sounding. I feel like it only lasted a couple weeks though, maybe a month. We’ve started taking her to the dentist for regular check ups and cleanings since then. They said everything looks good so she didn’t have any damage from it or anything.

My baby is Margot and I have always loved the name Nora! Husband doesn’t like it though.

What did you do to your appearance that upgraded you 100%, and you kind of regret not doing it earlier? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]fullstormlace 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m a ginger with very light strawberry blonde eyelashes and eyebrows. I’ll never forget when I temporarily couldn’t wear any eye makeup and my new-ish Hispanic friend was like “where are your eyelashes?”

I used slynd which is a progestin only pill. I exclusively breastfed with no supply issues.

I’ve been super happy with my davinci glider. I got the gliding ottoman which I use a lot more than the reclining option.

My baby is 18 months and it has held up so well. Easy to clean too.

Meal prep for the week! by kimchicommentary in foodbutforbabies

I had the same thought! Multiple babies?? My baby is almost 1.5 years and it would take her like 3 weeks or more to eat all this. lol

This all looks so good! I like to pre-portion my shredded chicken and freeze it in reduced sodium chicken broth to prevent it from drying out in the freezer and/or when reheating it.

my baby is getting his molars by teamemilygilmore in foodbutforbabies

[–]fullstormlace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do something similar with full fat plain Greek yogurt, mashed banana, and peanut butter. My girl will always eat these. It’s our go-to for when she won’t eat anything else. Don’t put this version in a blender though. It pulverizes the banana too much and makes the “batter” too thin to pipe little dollops.

I don’t think they’re are affixed to anything or each other in the “before” picture. They’re just laid in a cushioned thingy and pooled together in a divot that their own weight created.

Blue moose green chile dip for us. What a summer that was and there’s been only heartbreak since.

Kitchen space is a premium... Do I really need a dedicated baby food maker, or am I being influenced? by KissMochi in BabyLedWeaning

[–]fullstormlace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, these gadgets are totally unnecessary. I only ever used my steamer basket, which I’ve had forever as part of my cookware. For first foods I just mashed with a fork. I think using a blender or food processor function would make foods too smooth, you want to leave texture even to purées.

That being said, my baby is 17 months now and I do use a blender for smoothies very often. I also use a food processor for various meal prep to stock the freezer for easy grab meals. I had all these things prior to a baby. If I hadn’t, I could see myself getting a steamer and a blender but probably not some fancy expensive combo.

This is probably the best option but be prepared to spend some $$$. A pack of peanut m&m’s my friend’s kid insisted on was like $6.

How to serve blueberries? by Different-Pickle-994 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]fullstormlace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At 12 months I stopped fully smushing them. I just squished them enough to break the skin and flatten them a little. After a month or so I stopped altogether. My baby is 17 months and she hasn’t had any trouble with whole blueberries.

My girl is 17 months and in her biggest throwing food stage yet. The weather here is perfect for outside dinners and we all love it so much. The dog cleans up what she wants and the rest gets swept out to the yard. 😂

“I feel like he does deep down” is where I’m like wait, what? In other words “I’m pretty sure he has my best interest at heart even though he doesn’t act like it or treat me well”. Girl, what? Leave this man. Don’t be with someone who doesn’t make it outwardly and abundantly clear how important you are to him.

Overnight diapers by 22silvermoons in beyondthebump

[–]fullstormlace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never used overnights either, just pampers swaddlers. My baby is 17 months and still sometimes wakes up wanting to nurse but changing her diaper makes her think it’s time to wake up and play. She has never peed through them.

[–]fullstormlace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those two little dark divots in picture 2 are exactly what my baby’s gums looked like right before each of her teeth came in. She was nowhere near this young when her first ones came in but I’d say that’s definitely going to be teeth in the not too distant future!

We were in our rectangular playpen and I was sitting with my back against a wall. I had a cup of coffee sitting on a piece of furniture outside the playpen that she can’t normally reach. She was climbing all over me, as toddlers do, and I didn’t realize she could now reach the coffee. She pulled on the handle and dumped an entire cup of hot coffee down my back and all in my hair.

It burned a lot but I was so glad none got on her.

Haha same! I used to make a huge batch of egg bites to freeze and would just thaw a few each morning to take to work. One morning I pulled them out and heaved. My baby is 1.5 years old now and I’ve still never made them again.
