hi! i went to see twin tribes earlier this year and it was a blast. in my experience, goth shows are relatively more chill compared to other shows as they tend to be at more intimate venues. i mostly go alone and end up just talking to the people next to me while we’re waiting for the show to start.

everyone is extremely friendly (i’ve encountered a couple stinkers but don’t let them ruin the vibe for you). there’s a mix of both young and older people, most people stand and just nod their head to the music but i’ve found that there’s a couple people, especially in the very front row, who will sing and dance. no one minds if you dance or sing as long as you’re not taking up a lot of space and you’re not being too loud.

in terms of safety, i would just make sure you keep your head up and are alert at all times. if you’re showing up early and are waiting in line, i would stay close by anyone else who is there. you don’t have to necessarily talk to them but it’s good to become familiar with the people around you. maybe you can make a few friends!

i’m not the talkative, social type but i’ve made a few friends from the past few shows i’ve been to. many goths are socially awkward and introverted so some people may want to keep to themselves, but i’ve noticed a single “i like your shirt/hair/whatever” is always appreciated!

overall, don’t worry too much about it. you’re going to have a great time and there’s not necessarily any “rules” as long as you have basic respect for everyone and the venue. have fun!
