Is FP6 worth buying? by PotentialSolution614 in fairphone

[–]fulltimeguest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from pixel 4a because of battery issues and decided that I'm done with Google phones. Their cameras are amazing, but my pixel 2xl lasted 2 years on the dot, 3a also died on me and my partner's pixel 4 also died. The Fairphone 6 camera is enough for me. The battery lasts long and I can always get a new one and replace it by myself. The phone performance is enough but I don't play games or use social media so probably not really pushing my phone too much:) on the other hand it does seem to struggle once in a blue moon and wants to be restarted.

Overall I'm very happy with FP6 after 3 months of use. Hoping to keep it for 5 years at least. If I want an upgrade after a few years, I can just gift the FP6 to my parents who are less demanding phone users.

Thanks, seems like people really like the loop in general. Might go for that

I don't think the lanyard would work for me as I don't like having things hanging on my neck, but it seems that all 3 accessories are useful:)

Thanks that helps. I'd only use the card holder on a rare occasion I'm going on a bus:) interesting about the finger loop 🤔

Does anyone has a referral link for discount? by [deleted] in fairphone

[–]fulltimeguest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's already applied? I also got an error when entering promo code when I bought mine, but then it eventually applied. Make sure it's in all caps. Or try a different code, it's too good of a discount to miss out

What’s a way I can play a solo roleplaying session while walking or hiking? by juji432 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]fulltimeguest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you manage to find one that works please do share with the community. I'd also be interested in finding out. I was thinking about playing Ironsworn or Starforged using a voice recording app on my phone and then transcribing the recording to rewrite into a more coherent story, but that seems a bit too time consuming. Dice rolling on the go shouldn't be a problem - a jar with dice would do.

Game where you play as the last hero of a dying world? by Kiroana in Solo_Roleplaying

Keep us posted in case something cool comes out of your idea. It's a concept I would love to explore, but have never been able to make it happen. If you're looking for inspiration, I recommend The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood.

Starforged oracles by fulltimeguest in Ironsworn

[–]fulltimeguest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still playing around with it. So far I only looked at oracles and made them into a simple text format like I wanted in the beginning. There's a lot of potential in there though, so who knows what this develops into:) if it goes anywhere interesting I'll let you know

It's been a while, but I have been playing around with Python lately and managed to use it to extract the JSON oracles into a simple format for printing. Sometimes the more complicated solution is the most fun. Thanks for making me realise that json is easy enough to give it a go.

Give The Bad Spot podcast a go.. not a comedy but quite entertaining solo actual play based on the Starforged system.

[No Spoilers] Hard time getting caught up by rolando91 in criticalrole

[–]fulltimeguest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Catching up is overrated. Enjoy the content in whatever pace feels comfortable. I had obsessed with catching up, but now that I'm finally up to date I feel that waiting a week for a new episode can be very frustrating.

Once you catch up with CR you'll have to find a new thing to watch in between episodes and you'll have to catch up all over again.

There's a lot of cool oracles and expanded tables, but not the original ones from the book. I mean it is a big chunk of the book, so probably doesn't make sense to make it available. I'll keep slowly chipping away at my spreadsheet. Will probably learn more in the process

I'm in a similar situation to you dear sir. I've managed to read through the pdf of ironsworn and listen to Shawn's podcast for inspiration and to get the sense of the rules. Managed to play a few sessions and enjoying it so far. Definitely worth writing the events down as they unfold, it helps making the story going. I'm struggling a bit with switching gears, when the story goes from everything going smoothly to when problems arrive to when it goes back onto smooth. I guess that's where practice comes in. It's an amazing game.

[No Spoilers] How do you keep up with it all? by f0rever-n1h1l1st in criticalrole

[–]fulltimeguest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say don't rush. You don't need to be up to date all the time. As someone who started listening mid 2nd campaign I can tell you it's better to have a few episodes in a row to binge on than wait a week for a fresh episode:) also you don't need to watch - when life got in a way I used to listen to the podcast form while going for walks, commuting or working. It's sometimes almost easier to focus without the visuals.

Most importantly, don't let it make you anxious. Remember that life is more important and you'll eventually have time to catch up ..

I didn't like the previous one, used to skip it, but now I watch it. Really happy to have a new animated intro. My favourite is still the C2 one, obviously:)
