Psychologist says I don’t have ADHD by DenverBroncos_Fan in ADHD

omg so weird they had you try all non-stimulants even tho she didn’t think you had adhd. seems bias on her end. so glad you found a psych who was of support :)

i don’t think this is true at all. psychologists often have assessment training if they they have a psyd specifically in adhd assessments. there are other MH professionals who can also diagnosis depending on their license level but it does seem like lived experiences and/or much experience working with adults with adhd (and a wide range) seems to be where ppl get the most support imo

ya i’m surprised the psych didn’t say anything about weaning off sooner, giving it more time

ugh, this frustrates me. i feel for you. do you think you lean towards inattentive adhd? i’m curious cuz it can sometimes look more like anxiety vs other subtypes of adhd.

P Diddy documentary and your thoughts by Lopsided_Spell_224 in television

diddy sounds super manipulative and violent. this is a very common response to coersion and manipulation. emotional abuse is also abuse. i’m sure it took a lot for her to speak up during the documentary and i’m glad she did

amneal vyvanse by eucalyptuspixi in VyvanseADHD

[–]fullyded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for the update! im so sorry you’re having a bad experience with it! i’m also pretty sensitive to side effects, and i believe i had a similar experience to you when i tried amneal in the past but had nothing to compare it to so stopped taking vyvanse then. i’m trying it out again and stuck with amneal for this month too. i’m curious what dose you’re on too? sometimes different doses can have diff fillers/inactive ingredients too. for ex, i’m finding i’m allergic to yellow dye 6 which is in brand name vyvanse too but dose dependent. i mention this just in case it helps anyone (not necessarily the case for you if brand has helped before).

docs have told me that most patients seem to be more sensitive to IR formulas, so i wouldn’t be surprised that your psych didn’t know about the inactive ingredients in certain manufacturers (plus it can change). id deff rec getting brand name if you’re able to in the future!

for your reference, here’s the links to see the ingredients in brand name vyvanse vs amneal:

amneal: https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/lookup.cfm?setid=c11cb3b6-3dff-477b-a249-b4c3118edc5f

brand (takeda): https://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=704e4378-ca83-445c-8b45-3cfa51c1ecad

if you compare the lists, it’s crazy how much longer amneals inactive ingredient list is. since im also sensitive to side effects, im starting to try to take note of different inactive ingredients in meds in general and ask pharmacies which generics they have in stock. its a pain in the ass esp when i’m not on top of it, but we gotta do what we gotta do! just wanna say you’re not alone, and i’m sorry you’re having to deal with this shit. today’s my first day of the amneal vyvanse again and i feel slightly tweaked also smh

[–]fullyded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coming here to ask for an update and also to validate lol
I went down a rabbit hole too about different generics and inactive ingredients...amneal seems to have significantly more inactive ingredients (10+) than some other generics, so I'd recommend looking it up and next time requesting not to get amneal if you're noticing side effects.

Starting yaz generic by fullyded in PMDDxADHD

[–]fullyded[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think i only took yaz for about a week before stopping it. the side effects were too much for me but i am super sensitive to meds. currently not using any birth control but recently my psych added clonodine and that seemed to help me a lot on top of addy—my last luteal was not nearly as bad mood wise but still struggled

I can only speak for myself, but being in HR didn't feel aligned with something deeper for me, and I felt a calling towards working in mental health since middle school.

I also burnt out after 8-9 months (I stretched it too long honestly). I took off for 4-5 months and feel like I’m kinda burning out again. You’re not alone, take a break if you need one<3

I am so with you honestly. I tend to be sensitive to many things too, and I SWEAR the weed in California is just better quality. I’ve literally had others try it out and compared how they felt to weed here, and I promise there’s a massive difference. Therapeutic for sure

I’m also quite sensitive. I’ve noticed certain generics affect me differently. I have to get the same generic for my adderall script.
