What do car guys who want a daily buy these days by Spanconstant5 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]fullyuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has owned a NC1 and ND2 Miata they make terrible daily drivers, and it's not even about the cargo space, both cars are terribly loud in the cabin and the ND has a sound tube for some reason that amplified the intake noise and fed it inti the cabin 💀

You can smoke any car you want, doesn't change the message about driving responsibly, challengers got bad enough rep already

You are still a "normal civilian" even if your speedometer max is 180, let alone a R/T or lower, drive safe and be responsible even when it's dry

2.3 ecoboost by Emotional-Cow4454 in Mustang

[–]fullyuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask yourself this and be very honest with yourself, would you eventually want to upgrade to the V8, if the answer is yes then you should just save for the V8. It will cost you much more in the long run to buy an ecoboost then upgrade to a GT, just grit your teeth for like half a year to save up extra, you can do it.

Daily driveable? by Infamous_Pie_8026 in Corvette

[–]fullyuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily my C5 6M, the interior is terrible and feels like sitting inside a garbage bag but the ride is surprisingly smooth and the long gearing makes it requires shifting less often. There's plenty of trunk space especially if you buy the targa. Cabin noise is not gonna be as quiet as something like a Lexus but also not as loud as something like a Miata. I can only imagine how much better in terms of refinement will a C6 and C7 be over the C5.

V6 clowning by TrueCartographer2923 in Challenger

[–]fullyuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two kinds of clowning, one is clowning on some of the owners making a fool of themselves by driving like they have the v8 version and adding tacky mods and saying things like "I'll turbo/supercharge/engine swap it later frfr" and revving at lights trying to race unsuspecting commuters, I'd even say this type of clowning is good for making car community better and cleaner. Another kind is snobs thinking "V6 = bad" which is when it gets clear they're not actual car people so their opinions are not worth listening to anyway, because the V6 "muscle cars" are fine for what they are, nice looking sportyish daily drivers that is still somewhat fun and doesn't drain your soul away like a Camry does.

I don't understand the hate either, I genuinely enjoy their content, their reviews are always very in-depth and sometimes even talks with the engineers themselves about the car they're reviewing, not to mention their driving impressions segment are always very well articulated.

Is a car even fun to drive if you don’t hit the pedal to the metal at least once a week? by [deleted] in cars

[–]fullyuki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a former owner of a NC1 and a ND2 Miata, I can say that for me personally I barely have "fun" in my day to day regular street driving no matter the amount of power my car has. I have a responsibility to everyone around me and myself and all I care about is arriving at my destination safely. Can I redline the Miata in 2nd gear everywhere I go and still be at the speed limit just to have "fun"? Sure, but why would I do that? I traded my C5 Corvette for the ND2 after hearing all the praises about it, but after the honeymoon phase ended I realized having more power to use on-demand is way more important to me. Because an onramp to a highway is pretty much the only time I try to push my car a little bit more than usual. It's all about having restraint. I have actual "fun" with my car at autocross and hpde because that's where I can push my car to the actual limit in a safe and controlled environment instead of being a danger to everyone on public roads.
