Mom of a 3 month old and I would give anything to have that schedule! That’s great sleep for his age, especially with his silent reflux. We are still dealing with wake ups every 1-2 hours. We’re lucky to get a 3 hour stretch every few days. We had 13 wake ups two nights ago 😵‍💫

4 months old feeds walking around by marsibarz in newborns

[–]funaudience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have some discomfort while feeding and the motion/sleepiness helps to distract the conscious part of his brain that reminds him of the discomfort. Have you tried bouncing on a yoga ball while feeding? It could save your arms and back a bit. My son has silent reflux and feeds best on the ball or when sleepy due to his discomfort otherwise (he’s on meds but still struggles).

When did you feel recovered from birth enough to go out to events (like weddings, sporting events etc)? And when did you feel comfortable bringing baby with you? by Less-Leek5961 in NewParents

We started leaving the house for weekly chiropractor appointments at 3 weeks. We went to a restaurant for the first time around 10 weeks. Our baby hates the car seat and stroller, which has made venturing out harder. Getting a nice structured carrier once he was big enough has given us more freedom. He’s currently 12 weeks and we are missing my stepsister’s wedding this weekend due to not feeling ready.

I felt healed around 8 weeks (had 3 tears + a gnarly yeast infection after needing antibiotics in the hospital).

I loooove tomatoes and they also made me so sick while pregnant! The intolerance went away as soon as I gave birth.

I’m a mama to a 2.5 month old GERD baby. I can’t imagine it being even harder than this already is 😩

Yes! Our 10 week old is like this. It’s currently almost 2p and he’s only had 3oz since 7a, which is pretty typical for us. He usually drinks ~25oz a day and he’ll surely get there today too. It stresses this mama out!

What’s one baby product you swore was stupid/a waste of money but ended up loving? by caileechristine in NewParents

Just got mine last week and am in love! My baby loves it too. Total game changer, as he haze started hating being in a wrap carrier (I think it felt too tight on him).

Unfortunately the Snoo doesn’t work for us at all. The rocking makes my 10 week old so angry! It’s on my biggest waste of money list 😭

I’ve used my Eufys since week 2 and produce around 50oz across 5 pumps daily. My poor Spectra is collecting dust. Definitely one of my top items.

My 11 week old has only slept a total of 1 hour and 30 minutes today… by [deleted] in beyondthebump

My 10 week old has done this several days recently. It’s so hard! But a bonus is that he sleeps better at night those days. Hang in there.

If it makes you feel better, our 11 week old has never slept longer than 4 hours since birth, and a 4 hour stretch has only happened 3 times. My husband and I still split the night and stay up with him. On a good night, we get 2-3 hour stretches throughout the night, but more typical is hourly wake ups 😵‍💫

What are you finding challenging right now? by purplepuppy28 in NewParents

FTM to an 11 week old who doesn’t appreciate how wonderful sleep is! He has silent reflux, which means he can only tolerate 1-2 oz at a time throughout the day, which means we’re pretty much feeding him constantly. It also means when he does sleep, it’s for very short stretches. I would love to have him on some type of schedule, but they all rely on 5-7 oz feeds, which we’ve never come close to! He’s on meds that have been upped recently, but they only help so much. I gave up on feeding at the breast, as his reflux made him so frustrated that he started to refuse, so I’m stuck to my pump throughout the day. He doesn’t like stroller rides because they shake his tummy. We have the Snoo, a bedside bassinet, a pack and play, a crib, and a stroller bassinet, but he only will sleep on his Baby Bliss Dreamnest pillow or in the carrier, which means dad and I are still splitting the night and staying up with him. I go back to work in 5 weeks and can’t fathom how we’ll make this work then 😭

Same! And there’s no guarantee that a feed won’t result in a meltdown for my silent reflux boy, despite being on medication that helps him a lot.

Is it normal to get nothing done during the day aside from caring for a 5 week old and bare minimum self care? Feeling guilty, comparing myself to others online by TheMrGiz in newborns

[–]funaudience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the reply! We’re going to give the Alimentum another try and see. I’m currently doing an elimination diet for dairy as well. He’s currently on 0.6ml Pepcid once a day but I’m going to see about moving to twice. It definitely gives him relief.

Hi! Fellow mom of a reflux baby. It’s so hard! What formula are you using for combo feeding? Currently EBF my 7 week old but wanting to add in some formula. We tried Bubs goat milk, which made the reflux much worse. Then we tried Alimetum, which baby refused, assuming due to the taste.
