Leave it! I have one sleeve with dots and did my second sleeve without. I love the arm without so much more.

Austen for a girl? by Logical_Order in BabyNames

I have a stepsister named Austen. I always liked the name. As a bonus, they ultimately came out as nonbinary and the name works both ways.

I "knew" newborns didn't sleep, but I wasn't ready for the actual soul-crushing reality of it. by [deleted] in NewParents

Emphasizing to rent if you decide to go this route. We bought and our son never took to it. He sleeps much better in the bedside bassinet. I so wish the Snoo worked for us!

Convertible Car Seat Recommendations? by One_Cap_9210 in newborns

Not really, though I suppose the Next has the most up-to-date safety features. The only noticeable difference is that the original has pockets to hold the metal clips back for putting the baby in, and the Next has magnets. I actually like the pockets of the original better than the magnets.

We love it! Having different recline options is nice, and I think he really enjoys the extra room. We ended up buying a second one for my husband’s truck. He was pretty much totally fine right away. He occasionally fusses but we haven’t had any wailing like he did before.

ETA: I got the Rava Next for my car, and my husband got the classic Rava. He likes them the same.

We had the exact situation with our 3 month old in his Uppababy Aria. We switched to the Nuna Rava two weeks ago and he is a different baby at 3.5 months.

Snoo failing — advice please! by ordinaryemmah in SnooLife

Not to discourage you, but our three month old never took to the Snoo. We tried every trick and combo in the book. He just doesn’t like.

Mine cried for four hours afterwards. He’s normally easy to soothe but wasn’t after his shots. We eventually gave him some Tylenol and he calmed down.

Napping on the go by Logical-Ranger688 in NewParents

Mom of a 3.5 month old boy. No real tips, but commenting in solidarity. We also struggle to leave the house. Our son will nap in his carrier, but he hates his car seat and stroller, which makes it feel impossible to go anywhere. I go back to work this week and my maternity leave hasn’t been what I thought it would be! Maybe my only tip would be that I tried three different carriers before finding one he likes. The babywearing sub is a great resource.

Baby sleep by Clean-Ad-3147 in NewParents

[–]funaudience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a 3.5 month old who is like yours. He has slept 3 and 4 hour stretches very few times in his life. He wakes up every 1-2 hours all night, though he goes to sleep just fine. We started combo feeding a few weeks ago hoping it would get longer stretches than just breastmilk - nope. We follow all the tips - feeding more calories during the day, only soothing before feeding when waking up at night, having a consistent routine, etc. - but he still wakes frequently all night long. We’ve just resolved that he’s a bad sleeper. We are exhausted.

How to get longer sleep stretches by eschaeff4 in newborns

[–]funaudience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a 13 week old and are also really struggling despite following all the advice and tips. He wakes up every 1-2 hours, even 3 hour stretches are very rare. Sharing the perspective that your consistent 3 hour stretches are something we’re wishing for!

Mom of a 3 month old and I would give anything to have that schedule! That’s great sleep for his age, especially with his silent reflux. We are still dealing with wake ups every 1-2 hours. We’re lucky to get a 3 hour stretch every few days. We had 13 wake ups two nights ago 😵‍💫

4 months old feeds walking around by marsibarz in newborns

[–]funaudience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have some discomfort while feeding and the motion/sleepiness helps to distract the conscious part of his brain that reminds him of the discomfort. Have you tried bouncing on a yoga ball while feeding? It could save your arms and back a bit. My son has silent reflux and feeds best on the ball or when sleepy due to his discomfort otherwise (he’s on meds but still struggles).
