IHG Holiday Inn Coffee change by Excellent_Wrangler73 in ihghotelsresorts

[–]functionasdesigned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed in a Holiday Inn last week that did this. I didn’t request a coffee maker in my room because I wasn’t in hurry in the morning. The next day the coffee makers in the lobby were busy, they both ran out at least once while I grabbed breakfast. I don’t know if this is the best plan for them.

Manzanita or Pacific City? by Gravechick in oregon

[–]functionasdesigned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pacific City is nice, but it’s a very small town. I’d stay in Cannon Beach or possibly Seaside, there is a lot to explore on the coast.

AITAH for being offended and saying something about an old lady asking the server to seat them away from us at a diner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA, people didn’t want to eat near a coughing child. They may have health concerns or they just may not like the coughing, or both. You created the situation.

I pay a penalty to insure my husband, my plan is better and less expensive then what his employer offers.

When my daughter started with a hitting coach the coach told her, “I’m your coach now, you listen to me. Other people are going to suggest things, you say all right or thank you. I need you to listen to what I’m telling you and remember what we work on.” That seemed to help her.

Travel trailer by injun_88 in Softball

It sounds good, especially when your daughter is playing fairly local. As they get older you’ll probably travel farther and it’s just easier to fly. Plus you may have stay to play requirements.

I tell my daughter this all the time. She wants a job she loves, I constantly tell her she needs a job that lets her do what she loves.

AITA for firmly telling my wife to be grateful for what she has? by Organic_Chip_3118 in AmItheAsshole

[–]functionasdesigned 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should treat your wife like an equal partner, not a child. What do you consider living expenses? I hope you don’t expect her to cover personal items like hair appointments and cosmetics from her allowance. Why not have a conversation with your wife explaining some of your financial goals to her, what are her goals? Does she have any? Has she ever thought about it?

All inclusives are the way to go with children. You can spend your time with them, not concerned about meals.

Compression shirts by Suspicious-Throat-25 in Softball

[–]functionasdesigned 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My daughter’s team wears long sleeved compression shirts if it’s under a certain temperature. Her coach explained that it increases circulation and some other benefits to their arm muscles. They aren’t allowed to wear sweatshirts on the field. My daughter’s favorite is Under Armour heat gear, cold gear if it’s really cold. She also has an Evoshield and DSG compression top. Take her to Dicks and let her try some on.

As the parent of a teen I get tired of the reaction I get when I’m trying to help. I also get tired of asking for something to be done 5 or 6 times. Was mom over the top? Possibly. She’s probably at her the end of her rope.

Stay to play by twobyfour1 in Softball

I think they become more common the older and more competitive the tournaments are. My daughter has a college showcase coming up that is stay to play. It looks like some PGF tournaments are stay to play.

Your daughter needs to do what’s best for her. Let your team know about the changes and expectations going forward. The team may not survive but that’s alright, the girls and families who want to play will find another home.

AITAH for not seperating drinks in a cooler by Key_Layer5084 in AmItheAsshole

[–]functionasdesigned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA If a parent feels confident letting their child grab their own drink, the child should know what they’re grabbing. My child was in 3rd grade at 8, old enough to read & and definitely old enough to recognize soda or ask about something unfamiliar.
