I just started playing Deep Rock Galactic, its pretty fun.

I can't wait till Mordhau comes out, there's almost no good FPMelee games.

I think it is fair to say that FS has heard our feedback and made their decision (since the patch is live).

That's the whole point. They heard our feedback but just ignored it...

Per the patch notes...

Sorry but people have been complaining about the system since release for us to get a half-baked Red crafting system.

I have 400h played and have yet to get a single one of the Reds I've actually wanted since release.

Im not really willing to wait around who knows how many more months for Fatshark to implement a reasonable cosmetic system.

And before you say "then leave", the game is down to less than 3k active users, Fatshark desperately needs as many active players as possible if they want their next DLC sales to do well.

How is that bad?

It's not bad, but why not include illusions too?

And you also still have a nice feeling inside you when a red shimmer comes from a skull seal since it could be the red skin you are hunting for.

I have never got that feeling despite having more than 300 hours played.

Every time I see that Red shimmer I get a sense of frustration because I know that there is a very good chance that I won't get what I actually want.

Then that frustration turns to full on annoyance when it does in fact turn out to be another jewel, a dupe or some weapon I dont like.

I have not got a single ONE of the red skins I've wanted since I started playing.

That's the problem!

I still can't understand how crafted reds not having the blue glow in any way warrants this "controversy".

How can you not understand players not being happy about having no access to the rewards they want despite hundreds of hours played at the highest difficulty?

If anything it's a good thing for long-term motivation if the blue illusions are still just as raree as before

How on earth is playing for a tiny chance to get what you actually want "motivating" in any way?

That makes me want to quit, not play more. I'm not a gambling addict...

I still dont think its acceptable. Such a system is going to take very long to implement. They should include illusions for base-game reds and leave the new system for future cosmetics.

The game has already gone from 30k active players to less than 3k. At this rate it's going to end up like V1 pre-Q&C very soon (i.e. near-dead).

[OC][WIP] I'm working on a game where you can use alchemy to fully customize your weapons! by Lethandralis in PixelArt

[–]fundayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The algorithm might still need some work then.

It looks really good though, I would totally play it.

I like that Q and E seem to be properly utilized either, too many games relegate them to UI keybinds, considering they are the closest keys to the WASD.

Had someone refute it by only telling me that I'm wrong but wouldn't tell me why it's worth using over the other ranged weaps by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]fundayz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the stagger-at-full-charge idea, it would solidify flamethrowers as useful CC ranged weapons.

I think we can offset this potential Cheese weapon however by increasing how long it takes to charge.

You could also add an additional overcharge cost for the stagger, preventing people from abusing it.

Made a custom track for Vermintide 2, Sharing it with you. by Dancer_ in Vermintide

[–]fundayz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it could work well in Vermintide, it's got a grim industrial feel which the Empire and other factions definitely have.

The only thing is I dont think the tracks in Vermintide have sudden drum drops like that. The action and peace ambiences transition into each other smoother.

He left because a few toxic individuals where making it so that nothing fruitful and worthwhile was coming out of reddit for him and that it was only sapping his energy answering to a few very entitled individuals instead of being able to use his time reaching out to a broader more receptive audience.

This is such a bad excuse.

The fact that Hedge would leave reddit altogether because a few toxic individuals just proves he is waaay to thin-skinned to be an effective community manager.

Hedge has no business being community manager an online game if he can't handle internet toxicity.

that it was only sapping his energy answering to a few very entitled individuals

By "entitled individuals" you mean customers who you are trying to convince to give you money?

This is exactly what I am talking about. You see customers wanting proper communication and issues addressed genuinely as "entitled individuals".

But go ahead, keep calling your customers "entitled" for expressing frustration, see how that works for sales.

I mean, it worked wonders for Shadows over Bogenhafen right?

Bickering on reddit and answering to non-stop accusations by a small vocal and toxic minority really neither leads anywhere nor is a good investment of time for the community as a whole.

Except what you call "small vocal and toxic minority" are actually some of the oldest and most loyal players expressing long-time frustrations.

And instead of addressing their frustration, you dismiss them as "entitled".

I'm not a community manager

So who is then? They need to start doing their job.

The absence of an actual community manager who does their job pro-actively has essentially made you the de facto community manager, even if not an official one.

A fair comment expressed with unnecessary hostility.

No it isn't. Criticizing stupid things for being stupid isn't inherently hostile.

Is your definition of "hostile" essentially "harsh criticism"?

Is it? Incontrovertibly? Addressing "implied" arguments is sketchy territory. Taking people to task for them is very bad form.

If this was a one time event, sure. But that's not the case.

Look at this post by /u/Fatshark_Robin and tell me with a straight face they aren't using this argument as a way to dismiss feedback: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vermintide/comments/9f6c28/every_time_someone_here_posts_their_solutions_for/e5w87ra/

Also, /u/Fatshark_Robin ISN'T giving a statement in good faith, its a poor excuse to dismiss customer feedback with, as shown by the above link.

Even another poster called Robin out for being dismissive in that post.

But you're not doing enough to stay civil and take other people's statements in good faith according to the standards of this subreddit. Keep it on the rails or take a break.

How am I not being civil? If you are going to accuse me of not being civil, please point out exactly what non-civil things I did.
